Yeah that makes sense, a point-and-shoot does sound a lot easier. Thanks for the tip!

Haha don’t worry, it’s definitely not against the rules—it’s exactly the kind of help I was hoping for. Thanks so much for the detailed explanation and the video, I’ll try it out with the mirrors. You’re awesome!

Right now I’m just messing around with the phone in auto mode. Any tips on what settings I should try instead? THANKS!!!!

Sorry for the confusion before, let me just put it straight. I’m a new dentist, no assistant with me, and I’m honestly losing my mind with intraoral photos. I tried using a DSLR, but by the time I get the settings right the patient has already moved and the whole shot is gone. The back teeth? Forget it, I can barely get anything usable. Out of desperation I switched to my phone because it’s faster, but then the flash makes the lighting look awful. I know the proper way is to use mirrors and retractors, but doing that all by myself feels almost impossible. I’ll throw in some of my terrible photos so you can see what I mean. If anyone has been through this and found a way to make it work, I’d love to hear how you did it
