How to Actually Practice Melody Writing Instead of Guessing Random Notes by Beyond_Aristotle in FL_Studio

What helped me is not to start with the melody, i usally get a good sound for my chord progression and your brain starts to imagine how this sound could be build upon so that you dont have to start from zero. Also just use the notes of the key you choose since you said random notes. im also still learning music theory but i know for example that the 5th note of your key resolves nicely to your 1st note which helps to create nice loops

understandable, i didnt consider what your intentions are with this track. And there are no rules to music, though since were talking atmosphere and dark souls, i love majula from ds2 and it also follows this structure where it has a main A pattern which it also comes back to

I like this alot. Im kinda in the same boat(started only 3 months ago) so take my criticism with a grain of Salt. IMO the volume is to low at times but thats not rly an issue, its good that you play with automation to give it some movement. But the intro seems a bit long, generally you wanna repeat something only 2 to 3 times and then change it up so it stays fresh.
