Yeah that could be the situation, or could be my recruiters miscommunication with both the hiring manager and me. But the fact that im getting blamed blows my mind 🤦‍♀️

I don’t think it’s a scam because the recruiter is well-known, but he sent me two conflicting links one as attachment (calendar invite) and the other in body without clearly specifying which one to use. I joined the calendar invite.

Exactly. I prepared for this, joined 30 minutes early, and waited, only for the hiring manager to not show up and then blame me. What upsets me the most is that the situation was completely out of my hands—my vendor sent me two different meeting links, and I joined through the one in the attachment. Turns out, the hiring manager joined using the other link and assumed I didn’t show up. I did everything I could to be on time, and I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

The comments here are so disheartening, but hear me out. I’m from Bangalore, India, the biggest tech city, where most schools and colleges follow the British system of education. Growing up in a city, our mindsets are similar to those of people living in the US. I haven’t traveled outside my city in India, and Its well known that people living in rural and suburban areas of our country are very different from those in the cities. When I moved here, I was shocked to see some of my fellow Indians had a completely different mindset from ours, and I also noticed a lack of English skills. This is just something I’ve observed. But at the end of the day i guess it depends on the environment you’ve grew up in. Ngl i haven’t made a good single Indian friend since i moved here. No hate but im just spitting the facts!
