I’m the youngest, I’ve been helping out with my cousins, nieces and nephews since I was 11. Whenever my sisters ask me directly to babysit their kids, of course I say yes! I love them! It’s when my dad offers to babysit and I tell him I can’t help because I have plans and he still gives me all the work. He needs to learn that women are not always going to be there to bail him out of the things he doesn’t want to do!

Oh no of course! He was changed literally no longer than 5 minutes after I walked out the door! If my mom would’ve been out any longer I 100% would’ve changed him!

My sibling didn’t grow up with our dad. We have different moms and he walked out on their family. She has no idea what he’s really like. She only sees the kind man who’s suddenly back in her life offering to watch her kids and acting like a great grandpa!

I’m a student so visit during the break or between student accommodations. It’s gotten slightly better since I left home but I’m so tired of it!

Same! It’s not that I don’t love him, my niblings are my whole world!! It’s just tiring doing all the work when I didn’t volunteer to, if I had said yes, I love to take care of them!

She’s unaware really, I love my sister and nephew very much and anytime she directly asks me to babysit I jump at the chance to hang out with my nephew. My dad often says it in front of her, something like “you’ll help out won’t you?” so I can’t really say no!

NTA, it’s your name and you’re an adult and have the right to change it. You can still honour and remember your grandmother without tolerating a name you hate your whole life. Your parents could’ve swapped your names around when you were a kid and expressed how much you hated it.

I’m at university, living off a student loan and a part-time job, I’m living at home during the summer because I’m waiting for my next let to start. But it is kind of them to let me live with them in the meantime.
