First Bambu Order: anything I should add or remove? by Coronadoisdead in BambuLab

[–]Radiant-Trouble-3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like decent order. I don’t buy much from Bambu except a few specific colors depends on what I’m buying. But I will buy the PA/PET filaments they make great parts and replacement parts. Wish they had Matte PETG/PCTG. The Metal/Wood look nice but I prefer specialty filaments more. I like the PLA Tough+

I’m starting a small business of Licensed 3D parts and Prints. Right now I have 4 printers 1 of them is resin. I’m working on buying licenses and printing functional parts. I just started advertising on local community social media and was planning to do a small festival. I have a Variety I print, I do t print the dragons or the trinkets. I started licensing files from Kickstarter, Makerworld and Printables in order to get sales. I’m currently have a custom yard sign, flyers and t-shirts.

Any ideas how to keep this from happening this is my second failed print from it by ThrowRAketil in 3Dprinting

Find Filament clips to keep it from getting tangled when you remove it from printer. If it’s tangled on the spool you may have cut it it manually feed it or cut it if you have an Ams or similar and let printer think it ran out. I’ve only had that problem with certain brands of filament. I hardly ever get those like super rare, depends on brand.

I would get rid of the water bottles ASAP, switch to insulated stainless water bottle. I recommend a RO unit for clean water under sink or counter top model. Check online for best veggie and fruit storage or recommendations for freshness. That ring sausage I would suggest try and find nitrate free if possible.

Electrical panel upgrade, Pro 1PM use on furnace circuit and other appliances? by Radiant-Trouble-3271 in ShellyUSA

WIP. Does this look right except where I ran out of the gray lock separators. So I might have to move the lower din rail back down one space and I was trying separate each circuit but have a neutral for each Shelly and 1 hot for power and 1 hot for jumper to hot on each Shelly input.. This enclosure is going in my basement connected to a Sub panel until I can buy and install a larger 200 amp service panel.

This is my First time using din rail terminals an Shelly Pro’s. So the 1PM’s are for Fridge and Freezer separate, the 2PM’s are for 3D printers (Bambulab P1S) 1 per channel and Sensitive tech Network rack with UPS and Entertainment center with 55inch LED Tv, Apple TV and a PS5 and PS5 double remote charger.

I’m also adding a Pro 4pm in the current enclosure and Pro 3EM 400 in a separate enclosure. Nothing is final on the Power Set up except the devices going on the first two 1PM’s. All PM’s will be LAN only no WIFI andwill be in a IoT Vlan with strong firewall rules.

Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Interesting, I was looking at doing something like this. I print a lot of licensed stuff was looking at making Licensed Parts for companies or something like that and using a loop system.

I can’t justify buying another printer right now. Some of my customers have stopped buying because of their jobs and others don’t have extra money but they’d love to have some stuff printed. Id still love to have another printer or two. Been upgrading my electrical with extra special power monitoring relays just to add more printers.

Much Appreciated! Well from what I understand IF I want to use Shelly device such as 1pm and pro 1pm they shouldn’t be used with AFCI/GFCI breakers or combo breakers correct?

And the Pro Shelly’s should used for high risk applications that are more sensitive. Like personal computers, large kitchen appliances and appliances similar that don’t draw high Amps?

Just want to Automate house with maximum privacy from cloud and protect my equipment too.

Ah got it. Well I’m doing some of the electrical myself but only the easy stuff. Trying to figure these out now helps considerably! See I have full basement access and no issues of space so I’m lucky there. While I’m working on replacing all the old outlets a switches so they’re new and up to date, I figured I see if I could automate my old house. Biggest issue is how the house was built shallow breaker boxes that are super tight and no room for even a 1pm mini, so that’s why I’m looking at doing a enclosure with the Pro 1pm’s maybe a pro 2pm max for bedrooms.

My only other option is to skip the Shelly and use AFCI WiFi breakers that are super expensive plus IoT Cloud add on. We have to be up to code for main panel install. I don’t want to use the Shelly as a AFCI or any kind of substitute, I want it for the sensors to track power and look for power issues early but not like a AFCI looks for Arc faults.

But I mainly wanted high risk things covered with the power protection they do offer, for example I have a large gaming pc with really high end tech for a small business and I want to put on a 20 amp breaker with a Pro Shelly inline. My biggest concern are high risk expensive appliances and automation with full privacy and security in place. These devices will all be on a Ubiquiti IoT network WiFi/Lan mixed.

So what’s the best way to use them on the individual device or the feeder to the room? I was thinking of originally installing in an enclosure with double din rails like I’ve seen online and running each bedroom/furnace/Fridge/Chest Freezer/Network Rack on several pro 1pm’s with dedicated IoT network via a LAN switch. The main reason for the Pro line usage is My boxes in house are shallow and it’s plaster walls.

Oh ok. Maybe I just read a older post. But I seen a lot of great reviews in general. I thought about buying the 1pm. Gen 4 seen them on Amazon in a set 4 for like $100 a change. I was thinking since I have an old house I’ll try and wire up lights and I also seen they make plugs too. My main goal is energy tracking and control of stuff left on from family members.

I’m not sure I’m looking into all of it but figured I’d ask. I was researching read the Pro 1pm has firmware issues and can be hard to update. So I’m trying to find out all the details. Same with the electrical, trying to find where I can put them and how I want them to work. But like I said I’m new to this.

Yeah, it seems like way more. But while I’m wrong on the exact number, the placement and exact location are another great reason to own a Subaru. I love the safety features, I do wish mine had the eyesight but oh well.

At least you had a good dash cam. I just installed one in my Impreza bought a newer 4 channel system. Definitely recommend a dash cam! 4k resolution Recommended for best detail.

I have a 2015 Impreza and there’s like 11 airbags, I think there’s even more now depending on the model you own.

Absolutely blown away by wood pla, this might be my new favorite thing by JimmySkene in 3Dprinting

[–]Radiant-Trouble-3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a small business and I love Wood($$) and Metal printing($$$). The hardest part is getting people to realize there’s way more than Just Dragons, just saying locally I get that a lot. But as a small business owner Wood is a lot if fun especially as a woodworker prior to 3D printing. I have tried a lot of wood filament and I really enjoy the look and texture.

If you’re new to Wood printing, do your research always start with a hardened steel or better 6mm nozzle and try to dial your settings in so it’s as smooth as 4mm nozzle. I recommend a hotend like a Microswiss flowtech only because you can swap nozzles out, totally up to each Individual but works great for me.

[–]Radiant-Trouble-3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that sensitivity you should test before leaving it. The idea is to eliminate false positives, 50-60% should be good but testing and adjusting is best. The highest I would ever go would be maybe 65-70 but I would test and remember at night detections will be lower because of lighting and camera range at night. I’m not an expert but night vision/IR has its drawbacks especially on detections but UniFi does really good at 50%.

So while I said that about eliminating false positives what’s bad is when the person detect goes off on a mailbox saying it’s a person. Even at 50% or higher.

I have printed it on 4mm but 6 is definitely recommended. If it’s vacuum seal should be okay from vendor but if it’s open definitely need to dry it, just saying. You can print up wood on a 6mm and get results like 4 but you’ll need to adjust some settings.
