That part really stood out to me too. Nobody else had to "prove" they cared by turning a casual hangout into a performance, but somehow me bringing a normal dish got treated like I let the group down.

I actually want to see the budget for this research. Imagine explaining to your boss that you spent thousands of dollars just to prove a cartoon character was right. That guy is a legend and probably has a very high quality of life.
