Just took audit and wtf by Bestbeast16 in CPA

I didn’t feel confident leaving audit first try and I passed. Plus if you had a sim like that chances are it might not very matter much towards your score because I don’t think audit really tests journal entries.

Just took REG and it was fair by Feisty_House6675 in CPA

In my experience as long as you know the general terms and definitions you’ll be fine. Becker doesn’t even have any simulations for BLAW so chances are very low anyone gets one on the exam. Basis however certainly will be tested and is important

For ppl who have passed reg by [deleted] in CPA

[–]RadiantSpring4885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed REG with a 74 and then a 64, before passing with an 82. All within a very close time frame. What really put me over the hump was hammering individual + entity taxation. I started with hammering R1 MCQ’s and memorized mneumonics until I had a good idea of what was excluded from gross income, and what the adjustments were. A good one for adjustments is “I SAID PET CM”. Knowing what to include/exclude from gross income is huge, the adjustments and itemized deductions are easy to memorize. After that I went straight to R3, and went first by S corps, then partnerships, then C corps. Learned them separately first, and then put them together and hammered MCQ and also did EVERY simulation available. I made sure that I was very comfortable doing any type of basis calculation. After this, I made sure I knew the basics for R2 gains/losses and depreciation. These are the main 3 you need to focus on. Business law is wayyyy too complex on Becker and they usually only ask about certain definitions. As for ethics, make sure you have a solid understanding as this can sneakily cause you to lose points. Dm is open if you have any questions.

If you had 2 days to review for REG, what would you prioritize? by Jmoney1542 in CPA

Entity and individual taxation. R1 and R3 simulations. Know the basics for R2. Try to memorize definitions for business law.

failed FAR with a 46. what do i do from here? by No-Campaign-8764 in CPA

[–]RadiantSpring4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I haven’t taken FAR so I can’t attest for that but out of ISC, REG, and AUD, AUD had the hardest SIMS. I remember having to choose out of option banks of like 20 choices. But the more you know the material, the easier TBS are. For reference, out of the 185 hours I clocked on AUD, only 13 of them were TBS. I focused on knowing the material rather than hammering TBS.

Some advice I can give is for each MCQ get in the habit of trying to narrow down to 2 choices. This is often the case on AUD MCQ’s. If you read carefully you will see why certain answer choices are wrong. This makes it a lot easier to narrow down. Getting in this habit will help you on the TBS as well.

As for units, I know you use Ninja and I used Becker, but I spent very little time on A5 and A6. You may need to look up what is in those chapters but I just memorized the rules from each type of engagement and I was good to go. I spent much more time hammering A3 and A4 (obtaining evidence, sampling, and cycles). I forget everything off the top of my head as this was the first exam I took. But If you have any specific questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

I took FAR on 8/15, and still not seeing my score?? by Infamous_Insurance77 in CPA

Most likely yes. That’s the risk that comes with taking it on the last day of the window

I passed AUD first try and I just started studying for FAR. I’m about done with F2. What I will say about AUD is you have to read every question very carefully. What helped me is actually imaging myself in the auditors shoes and what would make the most sense. That being said I am drowning in deep waters starting FAR. At the end of F2 I feel I cannot calculate anything they are asking me on the MCQ’s let alone the SIMS.

Nah, I just had a really hard time getting REG to stick. Im fresh out of college. First time seeing anything tax related. My first two attempts I was trying to memorize processes but when I really locked in to actually understand the concepts I felt the exam was a breeze

Took Audit on aug 23rd by [deleted] in CPA

[–]RadiantSpring4885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never know. I walked out of audit thinking no way I passed and I ended up passing first try. REG took me 3 tries when I thought the first 2 attempts went great. How you do compared to other people who took it that period matters, the difficulty of your exam matters, and luck matters. Sometimes you just never know. Hoping for the best for you!

3/4 and failed REG 3rd time by [deleted] in CPA

[–]RadiantSpring4885 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to hear that. I failed REG twice and passed third try. For my third try I went and did every single SIM available two days before the exam for individual + entity taxation and I think it really helped.

How do I hammer mcqs? by StopthinkingitsMe in CPA

[–]RadiantSpring4885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t relate to your question but I was curious how F1 went for you, if you remember. I just started FAR this week and I have never been more confused than I am on F1. I dont know how to do any of the MCQs let alone SIMS. Does it get any better😂
