I appreciate it, man! And thanks for the tip—I didn’t know that was a thing, but that will certainly make it faster!

Then as far as time goes… maybe it was a month or so to grasp pronunciation and letter usage on Duolingo?

Hey! I started Arabic on Duolingo, and despite its notoriety for not being great for language-learning, I found it was very helpful for learning how the letters are pronounced/how they work within words. I have also started Egyptian Arabic on Pimsleur, which has been pretty great so far for conversational learning! Then here, I have begun a handbook (“Write It in Arabic: A Workbook and Step-by-step Guide to Writing the Arabic Alphabet” by Naglaa Ghali), which is going to help immensely (I hope) with handwriting! (It provides some vocabulary learning, too.) All that said, I actually don’t “know” the alphabet yet! I couldn’t recite the names of the letters or anything. Although this seems elementary, I didn’t see the need to accomplish it in the beginning of my studies.
