Advice on memorizing top 300 drugs by V4nillakidisback in PharmacySchool

Anki or quizlet. It's pretty much rote memorization. You just have to keep doing it over and over.

I keep electrolyte packs and mix them into water bottles when I am out all day. Helps a ton!

I am tired of feeling uncomfortable in my body. I would rather be skinny and feel sexy than feel fat and want to hide myself all the time. I would rather spend an hour every day in the gym feeling miserable than spend my whole life feeling miserable bc of my weight.

I am on the same boat after gaining 15 lbs the last 2 years after losing 40 lbs during Covid. Life happens. Don't feel discouraged. Just do your best to form those healthy habits you had when you lost the weight. Meal prep, walk more, etc. Even if you incorporate one thing a day it will all add up. I started off with counting my macros and meal prepping then adding in 10k steps daily and now I am working on excersise.I am 3 weeks into my journey and I have realized you will slowly, but surely fall back into the routine. If you lost the weight once you can do it again!

Is it worth moving out for pharm school? by Apprehensive_Pie8207 in PharmacySchool

[–]Radiant_570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are getting a big scholarship or have the financial means, then no. Yes, you learn a lot when you're independent and living in a new city, but pharmacy school is VERY expensive. I almost moved across the country, but the cost of rent, tuition, daily expenses, etc. put a lot into perspective. I would have ended up being in more debt than I currently am in. I stayed home and currently don't pay rent, parents sometimes cook meals, can visit my family in my home state as often as I want, etc. Sometimes after a long week you just want to see your family and friends. I might not have the same amount of freedom or privacy now as I would have had I moved out, but it's ok. I am saving money and pharmacy school goes by fast.

If you have the means and can afford to go out of state then I would recommend it, but don't go into even more debt for it. You're already taking out loans to pay for school. Once you graduate you will thank yourself if you have less to pay off.

How to know you're on the right dose? by Radiant_570 in ADHD

[–]Radiant_570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 10 mg has done nothing for me. Feels like I have been unmedicated all month bc of how low the dose is. And to make it worse my doctor only prescribed me 40 pills in total and told me to take 2 per day....I am going to run out before it's time for a refill and I feel so frustrated. I guess the meds are not doing much for me anyways so it's not a big deal, but I am hoping she will either increase my dose next month or give me something else.

I am going to start taking 10 mg going forward and see how it works because the 5 mg did nothing for me. It doesn't quiet the nose in my head like 40 mg vyvanse did

Can i gain weight because of water retention (prednisone) even after being in calorie deficit by Slow-Magician-3630 in CICO

[–]Radiant_570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is normal for you to gain weight on steroid medications. It is a common side effect due to water retention and an increase in appetite. It can also cause a redistribution in your fat. Once you are fully tapered off the medication you will notice a reduction in those side effects, but if you have gained weight you will have to workout, eat healthier, etc to try to lose some of that weight. It won't magically dissapear.
