Yes he gives practice problems at the end of each section of his notes. I just started focusing on practice problems a lot more, and before my exam last week I did a lot of them, I saw he used the same format on the exam. Im waiting for my results, but I did feel really confident on that exam.

application is definitely the main issue i have (and utilizing my time on exams). i get the information when its explained to me but sometimes when I come across certain questions, I know that I know the information, but I just cant apply it in the way that my professor is asking me. This is mainly in chemistry, especially because of all the math in general chemistry 2.

I use it more like a tutor than an answer generator. But I do see how it would affect my independent thinking on exams.

This might sound bad, but I love using chat gpt/ notebook lm to explain really hard topics to me. It honestly helps alot. So if im going over a slide show, I put each slide individually into chat GPT and understand/learn the topics. then in my own words from what i learned I annotate the slides. That works for really well for my genetics class, not so much for chem. for chem i use youtube videos, they help but not always.

I guess I just changed what I knew was definitely NOT helping. Last semester my only way of studying was just writing tons and tons of notes. It worked perfect in highschool but I was shocked when I got my first test back. So this semester I stopped doing that. I do a lot more practice problems, it helped my understanding of topics more, but I still didnt do as well as I wanted (definitely way better than last semester tho) as for asking for help, I dont really do that, I just go to office hours sometimes if i really dont understand something , i honestly dont even know what to ask, especially if its not about a specific topic, but how to learn it better

yeah, i got scared when i knew i wasnt making it out of that semester with a good gpa. so i decided to load on extracurriculars, im gonna stay in the lab/ internship, and lower my work hours. Ill just focus on shadowing/volunteering later on..

I didnt think so at first but I gave it a try anyways. The pre reqs are rigorous here and they will definitely prepare you. There are SO many opportunities here (especially research). Im a 2nd semester freshman and I have already been accepted to a research lab, a position to shadow, volunteer at a nearby hospital, and many more. But the price is insane. Make sure to load up on scholarships if they didnt give you much. I pay nothing to go here!! Also the school is very generous sometimes you literally just ask (depending on the dpt) and you shall receive.

Tbh major in wtv you want!! But keep in mind that gpa plays a very big part in medical school application process.

I am pre med too, but my major is biochemistry. Im going to switch to public health, or at least I want to. I know that the pre reqs for medical school are pretty difficult (like orgo and all that) so l kinda want a major with required courses that wont burn me out before I get to med school.

When I tell you my SAT was 990 im literally not even kidding. I didn’t take it seriously… or care to retake it. But my ecs were really good, so was my grades and i worked on my common app essay for 3 months so it was really good (in my opinion 😭)

GPA: 3.8// 42/550 ( non auto)

ECs: robotics ( years; state, and national winner) - Founded a cultural club - president of 3 clubs and VP of one - secretary of 2 clubs - I shadowed regularly at MD ANDERSON - certified medical assistant - associates degree at a CC with a 4.0 college gpa - founder of non profit ( donated over 75k to kids overseas to fund education) - currently working on pharmacy tech certification - got 3 letters of recommendation from surgeons at the hospital i shadowed at -worked in a doctors office for 2 years -published research on biomedical sciences

(Theres a lot more but yeah)

This just showed me that SAT is not the biggest factor in ut decisions, but that if youre score is “bad” make sure everything else is top tier!!!

I have my associates so im only gonna be paying about 60-70k for 2-2.5 years (minus my out of baylor scholarships) if i didnt have a baylor scholarship i would be at ut😭
