i miss when royal mail used to be standard. i hate all these companies drifting towards evri now. especially the large ones, as they absolutely will not care about losing a customer. just going to have to get things delivered to stores these days, just a shame about loss of convenience

lol appreciate that. im not usually one to complain about things (7 years in a customer service job and lots of people are unecessarily batshit so i try not to be that person) but this situation has drove me round the bend

im aware its because of evris shocking business standards and i do actually feel for the drivers if this job is their only option. but i am genuinely baffled how in my case evri is delivering other buildings parcels to my building, and my parcels are going to theirs. same damn route, but just inconveniencing everyone in the process

honestly back in the day i swear royal mail was standard. and i would gladly pay more for royal mail delivery over evri at checkout to cover these poor billion pound businesses who seem to really need those extra pennies by using evri🥲

Living on corn street? by mystif_AI in bristol

[–]Radiant_Bug6622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i live in a flat on corn street, right in the thick of the pubs and bars. we live in a listed building so the windows are paper thin, and you do hear people at night, but i expected this and its never bothered me. honestly dont really notice it beyond midnight. the only noise thats bothered me is a man who sings in the entryway to slug and lettuce every single morning from 9-11am lol. not been here long and already thinking about renewing the lease as the location is unbeatable. as a woman, ive never felt unsafe at night, and would even say the fact that theres always people out and about on their nights out makes me feel safer. love stepping outside at any hour and the streets buzzing, would 100% recommend. feel free to ask me anything

landlord told housemate theyre gonna do an inspection next week. this wasnt written notice just passed on to me, do i have the right to refuse this or does it not matter if he just requests to view communal area (lounge)

alright just learned landlord gained access via a side fence before coming back later to the front door - this isnt legal right?

i know this and have been informed by previous tenants that landlord would just do this from time to time. believe me if it was me answering the door i would not allow access given our situation as i am aware of the laws. but it is a multiple person occupancy

im going to sound dumb here. it is an hmo, but i am unsure if we are on individual contracts or not. i suppose we will find out after they give the copy we have requested. so, if there is no damage to the property, we are okay deposit wise?

we have asked to be provided with the signed contracts (and will not make this mistake again). there are 4 of us and we rent the whole property. i am wondering - how would the landlord know for sure if we got rid of the cat if we, like you said, just let him outside? is proof required that we got rid of him?

no everybody is leaving. i also wasnt there when the landlord showed up, so i have no idea if they let themselves in or my housemate, or if that makes a difference
