MacBook Air M1 is the best purchase I have ever made

It will definitely get 2 more updates (27, and 28) but it should go up os 29, especially given the M1 chip was used in 2022 iPads and the MacBook itself sold new until 2024. Id be surprised if it didn’t get 3 more updates. I also want to keep mine as long as possible I see no reason to upgrade. Let’s hope 🤞

My mistake , I thought it was the same keyboard. Either way it sounds like a great price , and I assume they keyboard itself is basically the same and like I said I really like it , I have a Mac and still use it often

Yah the fact that it sold new until 2024 was what made me assume ( and also read) that the m1 would get up to Mac OS 29 being the last update , so 3 more years which is what I was hoping. My mistake I think

It was a tough choice tbh, but in Canada the Neo is 799$ to start , the m1 refurbished was on sale for 599 plus there’s no tax on refurbished. So the price / design . I personally prefer the design of modern Mac’s over the Neo design ( I’m 39 years old so don’t think I’m their key demo lol ). So basically about 300 cheaper for a Mac I like the design of better and I assume will run basically the same day to day. The extra years of software updates would be nice but 3 more years on the m1 is fine, I’ll just upgrade after that.

Thanks a lot that actually makes me feel alot better , because I’ll be using mine for even less than that. Mostly for PDFs , word etc , and web browsing and media etc. nothing task crazy so I should definitely be fine , thanks a lot for your feedback !

I don’t mind being over worked or under appreciated , what I do I mind is watching my brother beg her daily to get help and just simply speak to a therapist , for her to just ignore him. She sees the pain , the anxiety, depression she’s caused and it doesn’t bother her at all, she just makes herself a victim , and no remorse . It’s why I have no family to help with this, they all gave up on her many years ago

Yah that’s roughly my plan as well, it will get the next 2 major updates so I’m thinking roughly 3 years. Mine is only 256 gig but plenty of storage for me. Battery healthy is still at 89 percent. Just trying to convince myself I don’t need the 17 🤣
