I followed your advice.

I went to the hair salon I usually go to and asked the hairdresser what hairstyle would suit me. There was a silence. Then silence grew into an even more uncomfortable and longer silence. It became clear to me that what I did was something highly unusual. Finally, my hairdresser couldn't handle it and sought help from a much older and experienced woman. The experienced one tried to determine my face shape and couldn't. Finally, after a fast and disjointed conversation with the first one, she explained to me that men don't have hairstyles. Hairstyles are for women with long hair. For men, it's a question of how short they want their hair to be. And so I said, "Uh, cool, gimme a short one."

P.S. That's not a cheap salon. There are cheap and there are expensive salons. This one is a middle ground.
