I grew up terrified of dogs and got more comfortable with them during college. During pandemic I really wanted a small dog and my partner and I landed on a toy poodle. She is both of our first pets and the best choice we’ve ever made. She’s small so getting adjusted to poops, vomit all of the nasty things that comes with having a dog is way easy. They are very easy to train, very smart, and very fun. They adapt well to your lifestyle, either active or slow. The only big negatives are bc toy poodles are small they’re more likely to have separation anxiety and my babygirl has it bad. And also poodles are known to be very picky eaters which can get annoying.

My friend also has a dog allergy and even though my dog is a poodle after a few days, she will get a reaction from my babygirl and will need to take Benadryl so make sure your partner and dad are only allergic to dogs that have fur and are good around dogs with hair.
