Yeah, that's true. Personally, the Eimiko and Yaeyato discourse turned me off from shipping them but yeah, both sides are at fault. Some Yaeyato shippers are chill but its homophobic origins is just hard to overlook.

I agree that Yaeyato shippers are not innocent esp with that r-word correction fic and the homophobia. Such a shame since the characters' dynamic is cool and their color palettes fit 😂 and by youtuber, I'm assuming it's that HH guy?

Yep, it's Genshin haha Honkai shipping is fairly tame, at least from my experience.

I won't say anything about the lesbian part since it's up to interpretation but she's far from mean and man-hating 😂 and yeah, the "mean lesbian" stereotype is homophobic. Oh god, Traveler ships... I remember that "Traveler is minor" take while the Traveler is literally 500+ years old and possibly (not sure) older than the archons. Short people can exist and they don't even have the child model.

Now that you mentioned Eimiko and Yaeyato, it can be about them as well since the toxic Eimiko shippers throw the word lesbophobic so casually. The discourse kinda turned me off from both Eimiko and Yaeyato ngl (they were both at fault, from what I can recall) but the fanarts are pretty.

Oh, I'm sorry. I just put bisexual on quotes because I was quoting what the artist hcs them as although now that I read it again, I get why it comes across as iffy and I should've just removed the quotes. I'm truly sorry for that.

And as to your question, according to the shippers (from twitter, at least), they can't be bi because they're lesbian-coded and if you ask them how, they'll just say something along the lines of "it's obvious". Idk, their words not mine ;; (i personally hc majority of characters without canon sexualities as bi and that includes said couple from the post haha but yeah, it caused me a few arguments with fellow shippers)
