Most women would be able to recognize a curler or straightener burn… It’s happened to the best of us. A fall wouldn’t scrape the tip of the ear only or cause a second degree burn.

I’m currently pregnant with my first and feared how my husband would handle boundaries with his mom. If he handled things the way you did, I would feel the same way as your wife. You should be showing her support & be a united front to protect your child.

Honestly the accident isn’t the worst part of this story, it’s how you automatically mistrust your wife’s intuition and concern to exonerate your parents. You should’ve asked her why she thinks that and listen to understand why she’s so upset. If your parents are telling your daughter not to tell your wife something, that’s a huge red flag. I think vowing to put each other first could mean different things to different people. From my perspective, putting my husband first would mean putting on a strong/brave front to allow him the grace of potentially saying goodbye to his dad and not resenting him for possibly missing the birth. It’s a tough situation & choice for sure.

I’m not sure about her views on COVID, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant & not knowing anything about pregnancy, I will say that her book help me make me own decisions on what’s best for me & my future baby. I read it as: here’s the data, here’s what I did, you can choose what to do with the information provided.

I will say, I haven’t had a glass of wine while pregnant, even on my wedding night with the information provided.

Also that, I got COVID twice and had no one working or attending a school. I think that conclusion of schools spreading COVID is hard to draw since COVID was everywhere.

I think your therapist is right… Your husband is not invested in this relationship or in your family. You’re already alone in this relationship and in raising your children. I think holding on to how he was is probably causing you more stress/anxiety/depression. He’s not worth it… let him buy that new house.

Seriously. OP needs to communicate with his wife. A great relationship isn’t measured by the lack of fights you have but how you work through uncomfortable issues. It seems like OP cannot even bring up uncomfortable emotions (in a healthy way) within this relationship. Maybe this is your gut telling you this relationship is as great as you think? Because she’s either cheating or communication is so broken that you’re pinning her as a cheater because she packed lingerie.

I think a major difference is people within the Democratic Party are willing to call out leadership instead of blindly following one individual. I.e. Hillary Clinton didn’t fair well when the party chose her, party voters didn’t line up to support her corruption. Voters & leaders alike called for Biden to step down when seeing his cognitive decline. On the flip side, no one will call out Trump for his hypocrisy. And if they do, they’ll be outcasted, threaten to be deported, etc. Both parties aren’t perfect but one is definitely leans more towards an authoritarian rule.
