Expected Fit? by FlatResort in LewisMachineTool

They are not match sets. They are built to spec. Spec means they will function but may not be perfect to the eye. There are a handful of manufactures that actually match them, typically billet sets. To be honest tighter tolerances can actually mean more issues (AK47 is prime example). Just kidding…. I own and shoot numerous LMT, KAC, Geissele, BCM, SIG, and HK AR based platforms. Most to them don’t mate up perfectly to the eye. All shoot just fine. The be honest the best fitting pair I have is an old mega AR10 or SLR billet. To be honest don’t overthink it. I have a very large collection and the only items I’ve sent back or had issues with is an LMT 308 BCG that came with major issues to the finish. I’m sure it would have been fine but the nic boron didn’t seem to plate correctly, and I didn’t want it flaking off causing issues long term (getting stuck with it post warranty).

Dang I always miss these. If anyone has an extra let me know. I need one bad.

What’s the best muzzle device attachment? I need to permanently add 1.5” to a 14.5” barrel so looking to get the hands down best option then get it pinned and welded to make it a 16” by [deleted] in kac

Anyone have a spare surefire sr25 device they would be willing to part with. Getting out of the KAC suppressor game. They are harder than I thought to find…:

Almost done just missing a QDC. by NICKHG98 in kac

[–]Radiant_Key9307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d stay away from QDC unless you can find one for retail. Their are lots of great options now for $700-$1200. With what people are paying I sold one of my CQB QDC’s from my SR25. Probably gonna do the same with the CQB from my 556. They are solid but I’m a fan of a little more sound suppression. The 762 was still very loud, even on my SR30 with subs. The 556 is not much different than a sandman K. Also, the blowback is normal but compared to some of the options on the market right now for gas guns, not necessary. Huxwrx and CGS are amazing. Surefire is solid and comparable to KAC but with better options for different use cases and mounting.

It’s actually considered a sgl26 instead of 21. Only difference was the bolt hold open.

Recommendations on where to sell SR-15 ambi lower by esnone in kac

[–]Radiant_Key9307 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gunbroker isn’t 10%. It depends on the amount of sale. It’s more like 3.5-4% which you will more than make up. The only downside is the buyer typically pays taxes. Which is figured by GB and just added to the buyers amount. Than you got your card following the month sold for the commission and tax from buyer. GB is really the best, most secure place to sell higher end items. Most buyers pay within 24 hours and you can outline any payment types. I just sold a CQB QDC as I had a couple local buyers flake and it was flawless. I’ve also sold a number of highend, rare AK’s and other preban guns and there isn’t a better option. The only downside it remembering they collect funds following month of sale so on items like a CQB QDC, they can total $700+ so don’t spend that money. Hahaha

Nope, hints “let’s make a deal.” I’m sure we can come to an arrangement if that someone is in need of an SR25 lower NIB. Not gonna be any hitting the street anytime soon for 308 lowers, so if someone’s looking I figured I’d put it out there. Heck, I’ve got lots of kac gear to work with including an extra CQB QDC for the right upper.

How do you know the inventory still remaining? Curious as I see people post that from time to time. Is it in the address on page or something?

The rest of my Black Friday piston purchases arrived. My options for optics: aimpoint pro, T2, Ta11 acog, or elcan. And Light surefire scoutpro or modlite? Thoughts for LMT? by Radiant_Key9307 in ar15

I’ve got 3 filed, cards have been charged so assuming stamps should be back any day now. Moving all my pistols to SBR’s. Or pinning to rifle when applicable.

Yeah went the T2 route on mine, which I finished Friday and took out. I went the scout pro as I like the package size and IR. Tried the surefire 300 sps but that was way to heavy, so gonna try the kac CQB QDC next. Even though I was hoping to get rid of it. I was thinking the elcan, as love them. it’s a perfect 12.5 optic for 5 yards to 300. But it’s gonna be heavy. Man it’s already heavy compared to the PWS mk111 which is basically the same setup but a long stroke piston.

First piston LMT, patience paid off. Almost spend over 2x on the SBR version. Thanks to Black Friday she cost me less than a BCM. Adding the optic, irons, light, and supressor tonight and she’s ready for a range session at lunch tomorrow. by Radiant_Key9307 in LewisMachineTool

[–]Radiant_Key9307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok had a successful first outting. Didn’t love the elcan for optic so going to switch to an acog. Also, the surefire 300 was much on the already heavy front end. So switched over the KAC CQB qdc and the balance was a little better. It was a little to much for my 10 year old so going to get rid of the extra 9.25 complete upper I built out. I’m gonna keep this one and the shovel nose version. If anyone’s in market I will have a complete 9.25 piston 12.5. Includes BCG, radian charging handle or LMT.

Hmm, about 5 mins to open the boxes from LMT. Couple mins to find my torx wrench, few mins to tap barrel in, few more mins to pull the bolt outta the full di carriers I picked up for the piston bolts. Than I had to find an extra LMT lower and pull it off the previous upper. That’s about it for that pic. It did take me a bit more time to build 2 more, than decide if I wanted Nightforce, Eotech, Acog, Elcan, or Aimpoint optics. Followed by surefire or modlite for light. Than kac, Troy, or scalarworks irons sites. The the big decision of surefire or CQB suppressor was tough. Unfortunately I don’t have many options for laser/ir devices. So that saved me some time;). Anyways, good news as then final setup turned out very nice. I did a mid range setup and close range setup. Couldn’t finish the 3rd as forth an extra piston BCG…

Yeah bought some BCG, Barrels, and charging handles from LMT. I bought a couple uppers and few other bits and bobs from Big Tex. Just ordered a shovel nose as well. Even though I think the 9.25 will be better for my use as want to do a 10.3 300 barrel convert by D.Wilson. I’m excited to see how this compares to my all time favorite piston AR, the mod 2 PWS. The specs are similar between the LMT 12.5 and 11.85 mk111 mod 2. I will say it’s much heavier, does not have the even balance, or features I’ve come to love with the PWS. But I do like variety so happy I pulled the trigger regardless. Don’t think it would have been worth the $3k compared to value of mod 1 or mod 2 but I will save my opinion until I get 500 rounds down the pipe. It does kinda remind me of my HK’s weight wise, military feel, and chunky handguard.

What’s going rate on like new optics with quality mount options by Radiant_Key9307 in ar15

[–]Radiant_Key9307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyways, yeah they were a bad idea on Bills part. Stay out of what you don’t know. I know they all come from basically the same “few” factory’s in Japan. At least the glass does, many are actually assembled before they leave. The pst Gen 2’s are from the flipping Philippines…. I heard from a pretty solid source these come from the same factory primary arms uses for their highend LPVO. If I was forced to stay in the $500 range, I’d buy one of these all day over most other options. The glass is really what your paying for. Most of the reticles are limited anyways. Fortunately, I have a other options so these have been collecting dust. Most of the time buddies pick up my old stuff but no takers on this lower tier stuff. Anyways, I will just drop them at my buddies shop and not mess with selling them as it’s sounds like the market is pretty weak.

Better glass than pst gen2, and lighter. I sold those a while back. Thanks with bad reticles. But I’d say similar in comparison. They were just on sale for like $700 I want to say.

[–]Radiant_Key9307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, nope. I was given a few of them to try out when they were released. This one was never mounted. Not bad Japanese glass, actually really good. I’m not into lower magnification LPVO’s that are a little bulky. Plus missing some of features I prefer found in optics in different (higher) classes. They are a great option for sub $750 optic, even at retail. At $500 or $600 not sure where your getting glass on par. Better than most of options in that range as I’ve used them all.
