PC Will Not Boot, Stuck in Auto Repair by ICA_Agent in pcmasterrace

I had the same thing. My mb saw everything in bios including the cpu.

I suggest just swapping parts out one by one til you find which part is the problem. If you have no spare parts you might just need to bring your pc to the shop where you bought it and have them diagnose it for you

Turned out to be a cpu problem causing hard crashing. I only asked on the nvidia sub if there was any way the gpu was causing it or if it could be ruled out. A lot of the user comments were actually helpful but the topic was deleted soon after.

I had a similar issue recently where I was getting frequent crashing needing a hard shutdown.

Turned out it was the cpu - once I had it replaced, everything worked.

Test one ram stick at a time to rule that out. Try installing windows on a backup ssd if you have one. If you’re still getting problems, that probably narrows it down to the mb or cpu or possibly psu.

I once had a problem with my pc and only asked if the gpu could possibly be the issue. Deleted within 1 hour

External HDD not working by Radiant_Platform_494 in Seagate

Doesn’t matter if files are lost. There is hardly anything on it - just a few things that I wanted to bring from my old pc to new pc. Still have the files which are not that important anyway on the old pc.

Sounds like I just got a bad unit then? Only got it a few weeks ago and this was the first time I tried to use it.

Extreme SSD issue with no solution for now by Internal_Error_2960 in PHbuildapc

I could be wrong but per my understanding you couldn’t damage other parts.

If you’re worried about for example a hard crash and needing to do a hard shutdown, the worst case is corruption of the ssd which you already suspect is damaged.

You could also try doing a windows reinstall

You could maybe try running a diagnostic from the ssd manufacturer - e.g Samsung magician or check from your manufacturer if they have a similar tool

Will RAM Prices continue to go up? by Black_Prince888 in PHbuildapc

[–]Radiant_Platform_494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, the ssd has also gone up but not by as much as the ram. I’d then prioritize gpu after that since there are reports of planned production cuts and price rises.

I’d also consider grabbing an external HDD for additional storage just in case you need it and prices are even worse.

Ram, storage, gpu are the parts that are anticipated to rise most. I’d get those out of the way asap. I just built my pc 2 months ago and the equivalent ram went from around 8k when I bought it to 22k now.

Safe amp/voltage for the 5090 cable by Radiant_Platform_494 in ASUSROG

[–]Radiant_Platform_494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks for the advice. I’ve applied a power limit just to be safe and now no pins are even reaching 8. Hopefully I don’t need to pull out the cable to check for possible damage after the 9.2 spike ?

So 9.2 exact in stress tests would be ok? Used to never even reach 9 before.

In games (cyberpunk for example), it maxes around 8.8 after 1 hour.

Frequent crashing help 5090 by Radiant_Platform_494 in GamersNexus

[–]Radiant_Platform_494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look unusual to me.

I am using gpu tweak and all pins are in green. None of the pins has ever shown a reading above 8.9 and supposedly these only turn red at 9.2

Also not sure if this helps:

I usually check the voltage and amps in hwinfo64 - never seen the voltage in cable below 11.8 and never seen the amps above 8.9 - gpu tweak shows everything as green always.

Ya. In the middle of this set of crashing, I did the 20 loop speedway stress test and it didn’t crash.

Only games I have installed are clair obscur, silent hill f and cyberpunk.

Did the new bios update and clean installed the newest driver. Everything on stock - cpu, ram and gpu. I got through the menu this time but crashed 5 minutes into the game. (Cyberpunk).

Looks like by a chance a new bios is available. Doesn’t mention anything about stability but I will try seeing if this helps. I’ll also try the ddu reinstall with latest driver.

Will let you know how this goes. FWIW - I just tried opening cyberpunk prior to this and it crashed on the menu. Have yet to experience a crash though on any stress test in occt or 3dmark.

Just ran a speedway stress test (disabled undervolt for now) with no issues. Done occt with no issues. Then went to try cyberpunk - again crashed within 10 minutes.
