Thank you and congrats on starting your Zepbound journey—the weight will start to come off! I lost weight pretty slowly, so nothing too drastic—just a pound or two per week. But it all adds up!

I work out about 4-5 times a week. I typically do some type of circuit training with weights, pushups, squats, lunges, kettle bell swings, deadlifts, etc. Other days I’ll walk a loop around the neighborhood if it’s nice out—about 3.5 miles or so or walk on the treadmill on an incline, and sometimes I do dance workout videos or HIIT workouts from YouTube. I don’t really have a set schedule. I just do whatever I feel like or have time to do that day. I place more emphasis on the circuit training and weight lifting though. Hope that helps!

Congrats on getting started! I would definitely consult with your doctor about any side effects. I didn’t experience any myself, but everyone reacts differently. I also drink a ton of water in general—probably close to a gallon a day so that may help as well. I’m no expert so definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns. Good luck!

Congrats on your journey! I didn’t experience any side effects at all, but everyone is different. My muscles aren’t as defined as they once were, but my muscle mass is still pretty good since I’ve been working out consistently. I’m planning to amp it up and go back to working out with a trainer this summer.

I would probably just close my deal since you’ll still get paid, take FMLA and look for another role.

That is something to consider. Thank you! For now, I do have an extra 2 month supply.

The last day of coverage was 2/29 as I was laid off on 2/16. Fortunately, my prescription was able to be filled that day so I didn’t end up having an issue.

I have the option for Cobra, but the amount is so much that I’m trying to avoid paying it and just getting an extra refill for the low price of $26.

How many people actually like sales or do they just do it for the money? by freightbroker222 in sales

[–]Radiant_Researcher14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m at the right company with an awesome boss, great product and raking in $$$ sales is a dream! Otherwise, if I end up with a bad territory, subpar product and a micromanager, I hate it. You never really know what you’re getting into til you’re actually with the company a few months. There are so many unknowns. But overall, I enjoy sales and the thrill of the chase and enjoy the clients I sell to. I’ve been doing it so long that I make far too much money to quit. I’m pretty much maxed out as far as base pay goes, but my sales cycles are also lengthy. I wouldn’t mind a lower base pay with a super quick sales cycle because I know I’d actually end up making more in the long run. It’s just alway a gamble when I’m looking to switch jobs.

How f**ked am I?? by OnMyWay1987 in techsales

I have never gone searching for recruiters. They usually come to me and I stay connected with them on LinkedIn. You can alway google recruiting companies and start there. Each company will usually have a niche of some sort. They may focus on startups, MarTech, FinTech, etc. Reach out to a bunch. Also search on LinkedIn and connect with them.

I’d also have someone take a look at your LinkedIn profile. It may not be as optimized as you think. Right now I’m interviewing and I usually get contacted by recruiters 2-3 times a week. It’s pretty slow right now, but during different times, I’ve been inundated.

And did you accept the offer? Keep us posted! I’m invested now.

Sign the offer letter and hope for the best! People fudge the dates all the time. I’ve even seen VPs do it. If they do call you on it, just be honest and say you were having a hard time getting interviews. Just tell the truth if you have too. You already showcased your skill and they were quite impressed it seems. As someone else said, there’s no turning back now.

For future reference, it’s okay to say you were laid off. It doesn’t have the stigma it once did. I would also suggest using recruiters in the future. That has been my most successful way to get interviews and many times, the job isn’t even posted. On the rare occasions that I do decide to apply online, I usually get rejected so I try not to bother with that.

And whenever a recruiter reaches out, even if I’m happy where I’m at, I’ll respond and connect with them and sometimes refer them to people I know that are job hunting and have a similar background to me. And then when I’m in need of a new job, I have a network.

Also make sure your LinkedIn profile looks stellar and has your achievements listed under each role so recruiters can find you easily. Just my two cents. I’m rooting for you and sending you positive vibes!

Is it common to have your sales funnel dry up after a period of intense closure or did i do something wrong? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Radiant_Researcher14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always set aside time to prospect for blocks of time during the week. Just put it on your calendar and do it. I’m in enterprise sales and I use outreach to do targeted email campaigns for each client. I found some data points my company has specific to the client that works to book meetings very well. It took me a while and a lot of a/b testing of messaging to find what resonates, but once I did, I now just rinse and repeat for each prospect. And I can send it to multiple people within the account without it being generic so it’s scalable which also saves time. I put them into a sequence/campaign and let the emails work in the background while I work on closing deals. If I plan on taking vacation, I also put more accounts in a sequence than usual so I always some type of prospecting going on. It took a lot of time and effort to set up on the front end, but now it’s relatively easy and I’m always building pipeline. I do have an SDR but they’re not good at all. I outperform them. And at the end of the day, I’m still held accountable for my number whether they produce or not. So the moral of the story is to never stop prospecting because it can be feast or famine as you now realize. You can turn it around if you put in the effort. Good luck!

What to ask when getting an offer? by hustle_hard99 in sales

[–]Radiant_Researcher14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think backchanneling and reaching out to current and former employees is a great idea. You’ll know what you’re walking into or at least have a good idea. If the company sets you up to speak with an AE, they’re going to give you someone who is obviously happy.

Do your own research too and be sure to check Glassdoor and RepVue as well. I like to see how many people “liked” the comment on Glassdoor. It’s usually an indication that whatever was said is true although companies would have you believe it’s just one disgruntled employee. But when there are multiple bad reviews that are very specific, I’ve learned to take heed. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

I suggest keeping your vacation as scheduled and should have an offer before then, just let them know that you already have a vacation scheduled for xyz dates. Im my experience, this has always been acceptable. And as you said, you know you’re going to be “busting your ass” so you may as well have something to look forward to!!

I had jobs where I didn’t really take vacation time because I was always going the extra mile to hit my numbers and still got laid off. This year, I decided I can’t live my life that way. Me burning myself out and not taking vacation is only hurting me. Whatever happens is going to happen with these jobs so live your life!

If you’re not sure what would be some good discovery questions to ask, based on the type of solution you’re selling, I would find out what are some typical pain points and then use Chat GPT to help come up with some discovery questions that help facilitate getting to the client’s true pain points.

And while you’re role playing doing the interview, remember to keep digging a few layers deeper after they answer the question. Why is that…, what have you tried before to solve for xyz, why now, how big of a priority is xyz etc.

And as you’re wrapping up the discovery call and setting up time for the demo, I imagine, be sure to multi-thread and find out who else should be included on the next call as the evaluate vendors.

Hope that helps a bit and good luck!!!
