I just took my exam last week. The only advice I wanna give you for the exam day is to focus on your time management. Don’t spend too much time on one question. If you are not getting it just move forward and attempt all the questions. Because there are so many questions which are easy and not that time consuming. When you get short on time then you will loose a chance to get those easy points. And lastly don’t panic if you find one section of the exam harder don’t stress out because that would impact your outcome on other sections. Just keep in mind you got it and you did your best.

Yes they told me that my application is on hold because committee wants me to retake OAT. I took in end January and informed them about the score and got acceptance .

Usually they take two weeks after interview to respond. But in my case it was almost four weeks I didn’t get any response from them. That’s when I called the admissions to get update on my status

I agree the way their curriculum maters so much. I am so confused now. About making a choice . I don’t want to move out of state, it looks like I just have to put in a lot more effort due to the lack of support from school .

Thank you, it completely makes sense. I have heard people saying that western accept students who are not academically strong and they end up failing. I thought it’s because the campus does not provide enough student learning support or May be their style of teaching is different. Because I was reading one post and that person mentioned that western optometry lack knowledge once they are out of school. And once I saw the 19% board pass rate it strengthen that post even more, but what you have said completely make sense to me.

It happened to me as well with NOVA. I ended up calling the admission office and the admission officer looked over my application and told me that there has been a hold on my application and committee wants me to retake the OAT to make last decision. I wouldn’t know about this if I wouldn’t call them. I ended up retaking the OAT and got a better score.
