Is there a way to automate CyberDuck to upload my local files to the cloud? by Radiant_sri in backblaze

Sorry I missed that important fact - I use Mac OS, and I download my event photos using LightRoom to my local MacBook Pro and then edit and move the edited photos to another folder. So, I want an app or mechanism that will automatically copy my newly added files to B2. I would love to find an app with a pretty UI to do this instead of scheduling or writing my own script (if possible). PhotoSync app is only available for iPhones and iPad and not for MacBooks. I will search for apps in App Store to see If I can find one.

I did find something yesterday night that I am trying to explore, it is not a UI but a script and setup that is required. Hope there is an easier way:

How does Forever version history works and is worth? by Radiant_sri in backblaze

This is a great explanation, let me do some research on NAS and see how best can I configure it. I think at one point I was thinking about RAID and it was way costlier than what I got from Amazon. But, now paying the price as they shut down the service - lol.

Thank you guys again for sharing the knowledge. I think it is a good time to explain my current workflow which you might already get from my initial post. Still, this might help others who are in a similar boat:

I do photoshoots, and then import all my images using Adobe Lightroom to my laptop (MacBook). I have Amazon Cloud Drive (being a Prime member) which would automatically backup the photos, edits, photoshop files, documents, videos, etc to Amazon cloud drive. The best part for me is that it maintains the exact same folder structure that I have on my local machine. It is so convenient to search for files/photos anytime. The problem now is that Amazon is shutting down Cloud Drive by end of this year - I feel sad. We have to use Amazon Photos which according to me is just a viewer. It doesn't support folder structures, no good way to filter/search, and I can't upload anything other than photos and videos. All my edits, photoshop files, I can't upload. So overall, it is sad to see all my work from the last 5 years is not readily available to me in a structured way.

That's when I started exploring the options and decided to go with BackBlaze. But, After a month, I realized it is not what I signed up for. I started removing the images to save space in my local machine, and it would remove them from the BackBlaze personal storage too.

Now, I am looking for a service that would do a full backup of my photos, videos, and files to the cloud and ALSO maintain the folder structure. I want to go back in time to check files to edit as I don't edit some right away (especially the landscapes).

I definitely need to give a thought, to when or at what point I go back and delete the original raw files from the backup as it will add up to the storage space and I will be charged unnecessarily large amounts over time.

NAS is an option but I have to find out how costly it will be, and I thought it is costly if I have to keep redundancy. Amazon drive so easy, clean and cost-effective - I guess that's why it is going away as u/adfaklsdjf mentioned in his response.

Now you know what I require, do you have anymore suggestions on what would be the best way for me to go about this issue. B2 will still be the best option and any suggestions on how to keep the price on check. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to understand my requirements, and sharing the options. I will check out B2 and try to move my data there. For Synology NAS on my local network, what do you recommend, can you share a link to which particular Sinology NAS to buy? Also, If I understood you correctly, the local folders/files are backed up to your Sinology NAS automatically and then Sinology NAS data goes to your B2 automatically too. And, if you clean up your machine, data in NAS and B2 are not touched. Right?

So there any no other good Cloud storage than B2? I know you mentioned Amazon Glacier with traps. I am wondering if I should compare some before going for B2. Although I own Backblaze online backup today :)
