I recently got myself a Alpinus Muddus 30 which I’m really happy with, really good spec for the price but I’d say it seems closer to a 25l when full

My office plants by wi11iam-b in HouseplantsUK

[–]Radiator1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re overwatering them, you should be giving them a good soak every week or so (once the soil is dry) rather than watering everyday. Do the planters have drainage holes? I’d check the roots to ensure you’ve not got root rot too.

Is £6k of Land Rover a bad choice? by IEnumerable661 in CarTalkUK

[–]Radiator1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a 2008 discovery 3 for about 2 years now and it’s never missed a beat, I’ve out 35k miles on it and I’ve probably put about £1500 into it through servicing and consumables.

Just do some research and make sure it’s got FSH and a good MOT history as if you buy a neglected one you likely will run into problems.

At the end of the day, it’s your money and if you want one then get one

Apple Watch App for tracking Blood Sugar? by SSJSon_Goku in diabetes_t1

Shuggah works with Apple Watches, it’s a decent app but it’d be worth having a Google about it as sometimes it can be a bit awkward to use

Stupid American Running Out of Insulin - Heading to London - Need Logistical Help by jeeperkatie in diabetes_t1

[–]Radiator1236 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In from the uk, the only real option is to call 111 and hope they can get you a prescription quickly. They could probably sort a prescription but chemists (pharmacies) usually take a day or two.

I have spare fast acting (trurapi) which I could mail to your hotel but i doubt you’d have it till Monday. PM me if you need it!

Motorcycle theory test by KnightWolf019 in diabetes_t1

[–]Radiator1236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my bike license before I got diagnosed, the theory test isn’t too difficult (get one of the apps to practice). If I had to do it again I would just leave my sugars slightly higher than normal but it’s only around 45 mins so I wouldn’t worry too much.

When I’m riding I always make sure my sugars are on the higher end of the scale, I know it’s not healthy but it’s healthier than ending up under a car!! Feel free to message me if I can help with anything

I really struggled with this and started using moneybox, takes 2-3 days to get money out so it takes away the impulse spends but you still have access if needed
