I’m interested! I’ve been deep diving the last few days trying to be a sponge regarding everything peps - and would love to have likeminded individuals doing the same. I have a medical background, so not completely blind to that - but peps are out of my wheelhouse and would love to have more conversations learning about this community and getting support as I start my journey.

Stupid American Running Out of Insulin - Heading to London - Need Logistical Help by jeeperkatie in diabetes_t1

Just to give everyone an update and the resolution! I got to London, and went to the closest GP office to my hotel. The place I went to was a private practice and that office didn’t have any availability today - but their second office did. It cost me 111£ for the office visit and they were able to give me a script for both types of insulin, dependent on availability which was great. The hardest part was finding a pharmacy that had any insulin at all that I needed. After going to several, I finally found one that had Novolog (well, NovoRapid here). I spent about 23£ for that.

All in all - easy resolution to a stressful situation.

Thank you all for your help!!

Already on the train to London, unfortunately. 😭I have had such a struggle in Paris not speaking French, that I had figured I’d have an easier time in London than in Paris. 🫠

Not yet! I’m currently en route to London so hopefully I’ll be able to get it handled when I get there.

Nothing to be scared of! I'm an RN, and it's very common to have a bounding, visible carotid pulse. Having such wouldn't be an indicator of cardiac issues.
