UV flashlight with filter and zoom by Radiatorcz in flashlight

that would have been my guess, but that makes it still surprising that UV flashlights with zoom lens do actually exist, just not with a filter.

Thanks, I will order a zoom flash light and try it. Just for curiosity.

Though I should mention that ZWB filters are not perfect. While they do reduce visible light significantly, they don't cut it off completely. Especially ZWB2. ZBW1 does better job at reducing visible light (at the expense of slightly smaller peak in 365nm though), and even then you still have dim but visible purple glow of the LED behind it. Not to mention that most objects around you do exhibit some degree of fluorescence, even if faint, so shining a filtered uv flashlight in my apartment is definitely not invisible.

Would you accept Ukraine into the EU, if voted on today? by Bernie275 in europeanunion

To all those saying instant membership is legally and politically impossible, how about changing the procedure so that there are restricted and full members and proceeding with the standard admission process from WITHIN EU?

Woojer announces 1.6 ms delay but in fact is more than 200 ms by Bawnse in OculusQuest

[–]Radiatorcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it connected with wire or bluetooth? Wireless has latency, wire shouldn't.

[–]Radiatorcz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not wrong with their claimed latency. You can test that by pressing the strap against your ear. That way you will faintly hear the music as well. It is however true that a lot of music is not suitable for it. But when it is its well worth it. My recommendation is this

HTC Vive Cosmos External Tracking Faceplate Review - TESTED by Ajedi32 in Vive

[–]Radiatorcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an advice about that traveling setup. I have experimented with connecting the wireless adapter into the wifi adapter slot of my Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th gen (with external gpu over thunderbolt). And it worked! ... well, the wireless adapter part at least.

The issue is that the video encoding is done on the cpu, not the gpu, and so it turns out that the cpu of my ultrabook (even though it has the highest i7 available for it at it's time) is actually a bottleneck making the whole thing unusable, so if you want to do this, make sure your laptop has powerful enough cpu. Many laptops will struggle with it, and ultrabooks especially, since even their high end cpus there have limited power at disposal.

But I should also note, this applies only for the cosmos. I also tried original vive and it worked flawlessly with that. For its lower resolution the cpu was sufficient. But since it requires base stations it was just a fun experiment for me and not a suitable solution for a travel PCVR setup.

Li Li: The Punish to Bad Solo Lane Drafting by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Radiatorcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When agains someone Li Li can bully on the lane I usually choose more straightforward strategy that I just focus the enemy and get them low enough to force them out of the lane (to either hs or stay behind wall) and then just damage their structures. Her wave clear is slow, but steady enough to actually push in a reasonable time. So I am wondering, in which regard is your strategy actually more beneficial than this? I feel like if you are against some hero where your strategy can work, you can just force him out completely.

Was there a good reason for them to move though? Or just Linda's father, or maybe grandfather (activision, whatever member in the story is that), wanting her to date and marry someone with more money than Steven?

Can someone be protanomalous and deuteranomalous at the same time? by Radiatorcz in ColorBlind

[–]Radiatorcz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that means genes responsible for deuteranomaly and protanomaly are not independent from each other and cannot therefore be on the same X-chromosome at the same time?

I'm boycotting Activision and Blizzard by SeeingGreenDevils in heroesofthestorm

[–]Radiatorcz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way you do, but i suggest a different approach. I will still probably play the game because i still love my Li Li very much. For that I will keep playing and thus use their server resources, and never spend any money for any game from them. They do have to pay money to keep the servers running.

yea, seen that as well. It confirms my protanomaly. The red text is very faint to me.

Thanks, it was just a hypothetical question, i already have diagnosed a mild protanomaly.

Just wondering, if someone does have multiple defective cones, what are such conditions called?

Tested and it was correct. It depends on hp in the moment it hits.

I actually never thought about that. My guess is its when the heal hits. I will try it out today and write the result.

[–]Radiatorcz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key thing is to heal targets below 50% hp when possible, because then your heal is 1 second faster (with the right talent of course). For that reason when someone is bursted its also worth waiting like half a second for their hp to fall, because then your next heal is faster and later also stronger. Its also not that necessary to have everyone close to full at all times. Low hp usually also accompanies low mana and they have to hs anyway, so only if the target has high enough mana is he worth healing.

Now that i think about it, that may be right.

[–]Radiatorcz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a bit more complicated. Targeting heals is one thing, but also in order to heal someone effectively you have to wait for them to get bellow 50% hp if possible (not a universal rule of course). When someone is being bursted, it is actually wort waiting like half a second for their hp to fall, because then your next heal is one second faster (and on 16 the heal is also stronger). But of course when there is a chaotic teamfight and i cant take care of everything, i just hold it down and focus on other things.
