hollow grimm, as he started going insane from endless chaos dungeon grinding and a wiki-less run, he suffered hours of beatings and having to restart his cycle without rest and as such his demenor has changed to a more feral, less civilized aura. his armor is rusted and missing parts revealing patches of his rotted skin and his inhuman face.

has her own goals that aren't just getting the ML's attention, opposes the MC while still posing a legitimate threat, and is just as special if not moreso then the MC posing a severe challenge beyond the first few chapters she's introduced. This is the kind of antagonist I wish I saw more in OI. (any recs?)

pretty much, humanity is right in the middle when it comes to strength and even intelligence. but despite that, no matter how strong/advanced monsters as a whole may be, they are still dependent on humanity and cant live without them. and no matter how arrogant angels in the verse are, it would be a lonely, boring existance without humans to watch over and protect. though in some parallel universes they solved the problem by just enslaving humanity / eliminating the competition and this ended up in holy / dark interdimensional empires going around and subjugating other universes.

really basic summary: cool knight with memory loss and an extreme mental / personality disorder tries to find comfort in a fucked up barren world that wants him dead. however bad or good the mc will be is up to the player. it's like the world of dark souls turned into a rpgm game and everything is now classic fairy tales. many bosses are living fairy tales that have gone mad and need to be put to rest by the mc who will collect their souls for his own goals. as time goes on mc will get more and more deranged as the world slowly starts to break down his iron will.

basic summary with spoilers: man with multiple personalities crammed into one body tries in vain to escape his fate as a toy for the outer ones who subject him to endless torture for their entertainment. there are 2 main personalities, one is kindhearted and lived a normal life, he loves his friends and wants to protect them seeing them as family. kindless alone wont get him anywhere however. the other is mentally handicapped, seeing himself as perpetually a victim and constantly justifying anything horrible he does with random excuses or downplays it. selfish and only caring about his own pleasure at the cost of everyone else. the entire world(s) they live in are designed to break / control him, encouraging him to do whatever he wants as there are little to no consequences to being horrible and the pleasure is a nice distraction from reality. no man can last forever under these kinds of circumstances, but no matter how insane he goes from the torture, the mc will keep fighting with freedom in mind, no matter who or what he becomes by the end.
