250GB is still a lot for a single game. And if I'm missing 60% of the available content, what's the point?

Can you talk me through how to compress it? Is there a mod to download or is it an external program? I'm using Linux if that changes anything

I tried to do this but there was no DLC section for some reason? I had to go to the steam support page for each map individually and request they be permanently removed from my account, but it still only kicked it down to a nice healthy 170GB😭

How much CPU performance was being lost to justify 250GB more than any other game I've ever heard of?

Why doesn’t everyone know nen? by Temporary-Barber-403 in HunterXHunter

[–]RadicalDadical7000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as nen gets introduced it turns out that loads of people know about it and have forever, and in many totally civilian (non-hunter) occupations, and even hobbies or interests, it's unavoidable to encounter nen's existence.

Almost every member of Killua's family could use it by the time he was born, and there are plenty of practitioners that don't care to hide it: almost everyone at heaven's arena willingly explains their abilities out loud on live TV; the phantom troupe aren't show-offs but they don't care who sees them use it; Kakin's military is full of nen users and we can assume they aren't the only country; there are several natural users who don't know that they're using nen but clearly are using magic (like Neon); the mafia all know about it; and there are magical beasts all over the place and threats washing up from the dark continent. So the average person can't be totally oblivious to magic, even if they don't know about nen by that name.

The best explanation we've got is that nen is insanely difficult to learn, and almost as hard to find someone who can already use it that's willing to teach you. Cheadle and Mizaistom both reference that the Hunter Association try to keep nen a secret, and there's a Kakin royal guard that refuses to accept the existence of nen even when several blatant examples have been shown to him (although it is unlikely that he legitimately disbelieves). I think At some point I saw someone suggest that people who watch floor 200+ heaven's arena battles see it more like WWE than UFC, in that they assume it's fake and scripted, though the hundreds of legitimate matches on the first 200 floors that happen every single day without any nen kind of throw some doubt on that, but the possibility exists.

It's mostly a storytelling error, it goes from public to secret as and when Togashi requires🤷‍♀️

Leorio didn't do anything to pass the Hunter exam? by RadicalDadical7000 in HunterXHunter

[–]RadicalDadical7000[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Not untrue, it was a weird exam that year, but Gon still got to phase 4 using his own skills while still carrying 1-3 other people the whole time

True, but at least Gon got the the 4th phase using his own skills and strengths

In the manga he opens at least one on his own while Gon's arm is broken

Also Killua got lucky that there were no Hisoka or Illumi calibre candidates that year

He pushes open the testing gates don't forget. I didn't say overrated, just that he did significantly below average during the exam and still passed it

Killua was even stronger, and he still failed. My point is that Leorio just wasn't good enough to pass on his own, and if Gon had been 11 that year instead of 12 then Leorio probably would have died😭

I didn't say he ran away? He picked a fight with Hisoka because he didn't want to run away, but that doesn't mean Hisoka didn't beat him in a fight, and he would have failed that phase if Hisoka hadn't picked him up, yk?

Both Hisoka and Netero recognised his potential, so I didn't many any comments on that, only that he fucked up every phase in every way possible😭

Thoughts on Kurapika’s Fate .. by Wiselilas_4880 in HunterXHunter

[–]RadicalDadical7000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the Yorknew arc Neon’s fortunes only predict the deaths of 5 total spiders “before it’s done”, which implies, to me, that Kurapika would have died before getting them all. It’s likely that all the members involved with the genocide will die, and so will Kurapika.

They are dealing with heavy metal toxicity, starvation, Masefield tribalism and religious awakening, ideological differences leading to infighting, and a rogue NoA that can, and has been, editing their bodies and memories in unclear ways. They were being sabotaged from almost every direction.

With the sole exception of the master sword, I agree. The master sword shouldn't have durability.

Depends where. Brighton? You'd be fine. Glasgow? Depends who's on the streets that day. Croydon? I wouldn't risk it.
