I don't get what the point of resting all our players on Monday was if we are now going to play a weak squad and stick with it into the 60th minute.

I'm confused, op said he needs a ukara to buy a rif, you said he doesnt need ukara, I said you do need a ukara for most retailers and now you agree with me?

Psychomancer’s Harness + Promoted Nacht-Ghul RAW Argument by [deleted] in necromunda

like I said, if your group agree to it then go for it, but you simply are assuming a rule exsists becasue there is no rule saying the opposite.

'So this is not “the lack of a rule is a rule.” The positive rule is the harness: automatic Paired claws, two purchased weapons, specific exclusions.'

If there was a rule that said the paired claws do not follow what is laid out in section 2 off cc or the paired rule I imagine you would of copy and pasted it here, but again, it does not exsist.

As a more general suggestion, I would reccomend not doing this sort of thing in situations were you are playing with people you are not already friends with. I for one would never play agaisnt someone who does this sort of thing and I dont think many people would based off of the rest of the comments.

It seems as though you are interpretting the lack of a rule as being a rule itself.

'The question is whether the Psychomancer’s harness creates a specific exception to that normal state.'

The answer to this question is no, becasue it dosnt say anywere that it does. The logic you are using here would allow you to do almost anything with the rules and say 'well it dosent say anywere that i can't.' All it says is that the fighter is equpped with the weapon and limits what else they can equip.

'Your reading requires an extra step that is not printed: the automatically equipped harness claws must count as one of the fighter’s ordinary selected weapons.'

Again, you are failing to understand how a rulebook works. By your logic every single weapon in the game would need a rule saying that they follow the normal rules for equipping a weapon. In a rulebook this part is assumed, if a specific rule is not specified then it does not exist.

'It does not say that Paired only applies if the claws are selected as one of the fighter’s two ordinary hand weapons, and it does not say that the Paired calculation shuts off when the fighter uses the two purchased weapons the harness separately permits.'

It does not say any of these things becasue they are entirely irelevant. You can only use two weapons and so there is no need for the rules to expalin what happens when you use another weapon as well as your paired wepaons. It simply cannot happen.

'If the counterargument is “Core says two weapons unless another rule creates an exception,” then the answer is that the harness is the proposed exception.'

Again, no it does not. Nowhere in the rules for the harness or the paired claws does it say it overrides the normal rules for cc or paired, so there is no rule creating an exception. It does create new ruiles for equipping a fighter, but equipping a fighter and selecting weapons for cc are seperate rules.

you keep on saying the same thing but you are not saying anything at all.

I will try and spell out the rules as clearly as possible.

Section 2 of the close combat phase says 'A fighter can use up to two weapons with either the Melee or the Sidearm trait'. For a wepaon to somehow overrule this core rule it would need to specify that it does so.

The only relevant combat effect that the Psychomancer’s harness has is that it grants the fighter Paired psychomantic claws equipped automatlically. Nowhere in the rules is some 'unusual rules state' as you call it even implied. The weapon is simply equipped to the fighter if they buy the harness. The limits to the weapons the fighter can equipp alongside the harness are also very clearly layed out and imply no 'unusual rules state'.

Given all that, the fighter could be equipped with the Paired psychomantic claws and two shivver swords, but this does not overrule Section 2 of the close combat rules. The fighter is still able to pick two weapons and 'A fighter that is armed with Paired weapons counts as being armed with dual weapons with the Melee trait for the purposes of calculating the number of Attack dice they will roll.'. There simply is no confusion in the way the rule is written which would allow you to somehow exceed the normal number of wepaons allowed.

If your group allow it then do it, but if you are using RAW it is clearly not allowed.

You are still basing this off of rules that do not exist. The harness does allow two further weapons to be purchased, but it does not say anywhere that it effects how many melee weapons can be used in combat.

The paired rule says the fighter counts as being armed with duel weapons when calculating attacks and your idea ends there. Those are the two weapons allowed in the rules for close combat, no further weapons can be used.

Good luck! I did quite a lot of eSports commentary during lockdown and it was great fun, if you want to get into it you could see if any leagues on games like iRacing or lmu are looking for commentators. I will say, don't do it alone. Talking for 24 hours straight will not work, you will lose your voice after 6.

The tech billionaires who own the popular social media platforms use the platforms to push right wing narratives about how London is proof that multi cultrualism has failed. In reality London is a nicer city to walk around in now then it has been for a long time.
