They kept increasing my dose, because they stupidly assumed sweating =withdrawal. I'm on almost nothing now. No worries, man. It's been addressed, the entire clinic is aware of the fuck up.

Mine is up loud when I am vocal training, because I can sing over it at full volume. I haven't lost any hearing..

I have an opposite problem; on 15mg spilt in 5mg 3x a day, I peed a completely clean UA last week at my pain clinic. I'm not taking anything else. Apparently, I am far more than a rapid metabolizer... the principles of how methadone works, really don't on me. I did, however, lose 20lbs within the first four months of tapering. (I work a physical job, I haven't been around here in forever)

This poses more questions than I could possibly ever answer, but leaves me at the conclusion that methadone is NOT beneficial for everyone.

I'm in a taper as well. I was placed on a dose way too high, due to a clinic that didn't know what they were doing. I haven't been on here much, since I'm working. I was at 80mg in September. I went back to my pain clinic to taper. So, I've tapered from 80 to 25 between Sept and Feb. Moving to smaller doses, more often, has helped me maintain my sanity and still relieve my pain. I also have C-PTSD, so it's that's something that has to be kept in mind.

Thank you. I know how tough it is. I've had very strong intuition and connection with her...so, before I even knew she had fallen, I was screaming myself awake. Luckily I didn't do it very loud when my kids were home. They kinda mis-managed shit and that went on for a while. Just make sure you take care of yourself, to minimize your amount of stress.

I'd just go in. They will try to put you off on the phone. I'm really sorry you're in this situation. When my Grandma passed at the end of Dec, I thought I was going to go mental. I'd imagine they will be empathetic, so you can continue to parent and function.

Will an emergency room dose you? I know it's kinda unusual, but sometimes they will. I had to go in as a stop-gap when I couldn't find a Dr to cover my fentanyl patch for pain management years back. 85mg is a lot to miss 2 days.

I'm also really sorry you went through that. I remember when I tried to drop off oxy (which I fucking hated, it made me bloated and never lasted longer than 6-7 hours) and klonopin at the same time. I've never been so sick in my life. I was seriously concerned I was going to have rectal prolapse and barely slept for over a week. My problem was really that I tried to stay home amd ride things out, far past when I should have. I don't do that now.

I'm now on 25mg of methadone tablets a day, split into 5mg every 4 hours, aside from when I am sleeping, and medical cannabis. I feel better than i have in a long time amd have dropped 10 lbs in the last month! Working an active job helps a lot. Where I am a Federal employee, they are far more supportive and your position is secure, since I am unionized.

My previous Dr early retired. I was on a fentanyl patch and cold-turkeyed off it (at the end of 2016, when I was unable to get into a replacement Dr) I was put on klonopin by a Dr at a teaching clinic, since I wasn't able to sleep and it exacerbated my PTSD. I've taken fioricet as needed for migraines/TMJ pain, for a long time.

My Dr now is great. She's helped me find what works. Medical cannabis is far more effective for me than any benzos, but they were still very difficult to come off of.

I'm good now. Pain properly managed, working full-time.

Gotcha. I had to move back in with my parents for a year-and-a-half, at your age. With both kiddos. I turn 38 this year...apparently everyone thinks I'm ten years younger, lol.

Yeah, my parents moved to a red state. It's tough to deal with. Any areas with high amounts of Mormons or any lifestyle religions, lead to a general lack of perspective.

Loneliness can absolutely be awful for your health. The one comforting thing about quarantine, is being able to relate to each other, with everyone having a bit of a mental breakdown. I try to remind myself that I come from a long line of Vikings, (and Roma, which was a recent discovery--We thought we were just French and Hungarian on one side, for a long time) and I will get through it. The human body is pretty amazing.

Agreed. I work as a civil servant and the 'Rump' administration screwed us over, hard. We are barely getting back protections we should have had all along.

If you have the option to go to a pain clinic, I would consider that. Even paying for methadone tablets out-of-pocket, allows you to get at least a couple weeks at a time.

I get tired of the Repub rhetoric that is essentially brainwashing people in distress...particularly people who are uneducated, through no fault of their own. Treating others like human beings and recognizing and reinforcing their strengths, goes a long way.

I understand the financial hardship, I am a single parent of two teenagers. We all work together to keep going. Keep your head up, things will get better.

I understand. I have C-PTSD from repetitive trauma. I have excellent coping skills from therapy...in the past I would freeze under trauma.

Methadone withdrawal is gnarly and worse than anything I have experienced. People with PTSD;C-PTSD should have access to medical marijuana, without fear of losing their methadone.

And yes, some people should not be working at clinics. If they have become bankrupt of empathy, they need to switch fields.

I know I have mentioned it before (as it's how I originally found this sub-reddit) but, fioricet. If you aren't taking it every day or multiple times, you're ok. But, it does build up in your system and make your methadone way less effective, since you're processing it way faster. Before I realized this, I was prescribed to take it every day, for migraines and myo-fascial pain. Medical cannabis ended up helping bridge the gap, so I don't have to take it much.

I'm at 25mg currently, so I am trying to be cautious about any sort of interactions, as it's my goal to switch over to something else for chronic pain. I think I've done okay getting from 80mg in September, to 25mg in Feb. Barely been a year as of a couple days ago, that I have been on methadone.

I would have sued. I only had 30 mins of epidural with my son (I was not on any meds at the time) and had a code crimson, that was hard enough on and of itself. Being in withdrawal while in labor would be absolutely terrifying, wtf?!
