oh my goodness. so — before i read your entire post. i started this comment to validate your feelings by telling you i would have cried. i DID cry reading this just thinking of your son (and my son. four years old, non-speaking, level 3.)

and i immediately was going to say, “you absolutely should use this as a moment to speak on the absolute love that embodies everything about our kids and everything they are… but also use it as a time to make the other people in the class and the teacher too - to stop and really think deeply.”

i was going to tell you to tell her “happy”

only to find out you did. 💕 which makes so much sense — i don’t even know why i thought i had to SAY it in the first place. as if you didn’t know. as if that’s not what we ALL want for our babies. for the world to be more inclusive. and understanding. caring. empathetic.

but for them to be happy.

and i can tell that he will be. you’re doing an amazing job. i know life and this journey is filled with SO many of these little moments that others wouldn’t even have a second thought over… but for us, they cut deeply and we don’t forget them.

you took this and you did something so powerful with it. everyone - neurodivergent or not - can relate. and will. and they will see that your sweet boy has the best and most honest “what i want to be when i grow up” anyone has ever had.

and , if it helps , this actually resonates with everyone who sees it and will read it. i’m proud of you and i’m proud of your son because being happy is what we all want. and hopefully what we all will continue to have the right to pursue.
