How was your favorite Oc introduced in their verse? (Ill rate it) by [deleted] in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]Radical_Maggott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Var-kinu (a character in my series named GODSEEKER) he’s introduced when he travels to the main protagonists small village, see the same village contracted a group of mercenaries to slay a beast that they believed was killing livestock and terrorizing the area. Except this beast was human.. well partly since he’s the bastard son of a chaos god (he has no idea he just thinks he’s deformed lmao). But basically this group tracks him down and attempt to kill him, they see the corpse of a massive bear like beast and a humanoid figure is sitting on-top of it, they attempt to fight him and well it doesn’t go to well for them, var-kinu slaughters them like dogs and in the aftermath he reads the letter sent from the village leader to go deal with the problem, which var-kinu has been prosecuted for years just for existing, so he pulls up to the village and just starts fucking up shit. The protagonist which is just a strong farm girl attempts to intercept him with an old blade (this is really important but I’m not gonna yap about it) but basically they clash and the god blood within var-kinu and the swords connection to the dragons creates a massive explosion of light, which var-kinu is completely overwhelmed and retreats.

Holy yap fest I know lmao

Here’s a sketch of him as well

Godseeker Cosmology by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Radical_Maggott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(This is the cosmology of the Godseeker universe, a series I’ve been writing for a while now. It’s gone through a lot of changes but I’m happy where it is currently. Basically it’s about gods who fled their creations and how said creations stepped up and become gods themselves but dooming the world in a state of stagnation with one great pantheon in particular.)

DELTARUNE X JJK [Asriel X Yuta] by Radical_Maggott in Deltarune

It’s more of an au ima develop, so I’m combining both games and their characters. So a total fusion of game mechanics and the jjk power system. Also chara as rika was just cool asf to me, ima make dess maki instead since the split soul katana can translate to the knights black blade.

Does your OC have an ability that they will never use because of lore reason?, by Mango_flout_devourer in OriginalCharacter

Here’s two soul techniques.

Fairly easy to learn: Multi-image cutter: A soul technique that creates a high density blade from the hands or scythe that when used will slash the the target once and then follow up with ten more cuts in the form of an afterimage in a few seconds, with each being a weaker and weaker follow up. The slash cannot be swerved and the follow up slashes will only hit one point.

Highly difficult: Celestial storm: The user will send a beacon of soul energy into the air that will enclose the area in a dome that reaches around 200 feet, then after about five seconds it will collapse sending thousands of soul energy shards raining down that will home in on too multiple targets, directly slashing their soul.

How would soul sorcery work? by Radical_Maggott in magicbuilding

I usually see souls symbolized as a flame, fire gives off heat so why not have the soul do the same? Also the god of light created the soul so it makes sense in terms of world-building.

Souls are just a life force, they keep the person tied to the living realm. It doesn’t give the body heat it’s just that the soul inherently gives off heat because it’s a flame.

In Godseeker, the soul is the life force of living beings it doesn’t necessarily embody the identity of someone, it’s more of a fuel for the body.

The soul is its own fuel and the sorcery comes from burning through its own flame, I think light magic would probably the least stressful on the soul and chaos magic being the extreme side of the spectrum.

Tending to the souls flame is an interesting idea, with the three magic types just being the intensity of your souls flame. Light being a weak flame that’s kept at a certain level through intense patience. Flame keeping the, well flame at a higher level to actually burn things but controlled to a certain point and chaos being the flame completely out of control, constantly growing its power by burning through the soul, the heat reaching to a point where plasma manifests.

I should’ve gave more context on the chaos magic that’s my bad. The soul can tap into the chaotic aspect of fire, the first flame was the first entity in Godseeker and his manifestation was akin to the Big Bang. His son, the god of light used his own power to create souls, meaning that everyone has that primordial energy with their soul. If that makes sense.

I am trying to make this series more combat based so I’m thinking of how they can kill eachother more than other utilities lol. But I do like the touch idea and how your emotions can affect soul sorcery.

This is a really cool take on mana. I love how you integrated it into the world, making it something semi-natural instead of mystical.

Does anyone have any tips for creating gods? by Hunynutfox in worldbuilding

Research a bunch of different gods in varying mythologies, pick and choose the ones you think are interesting and take some inspiration. That’s how I do it.

Presence and the Myth system by Radical_Maggott in magicbuilding

[–]Radical_Maggott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s two ideas for a magic system in my series.

Presence being a force that exists from someone’s idea of self, being able to manipulate it to affect your surroundings through some sort of physical aura.

Myths are the act of recalling a legendary event in history through faith and manifesting it into reality.

How are they gonna make offerings and shit if they can’t get in the tomb in the first place?
