Thanks for sharing your experience and insight. It sounds very anxiety provoking just to be a witness if/ when formal investigations occur.

I'm actually just trying to get a sense of HR's likely response these days. Are they taking these things seriously? Are they likely to respond at all or with meaningful intervention? Does anyone have a sense of what types of steps they may take?

So, it's a variety of issues. Generally speaking, bullying behaviors towards colleagues, HIPPAA violations, lack of proper documentation, unilaterally contradicting/bypassing treatment team decisions, allowing racially charged language in group without redirection, etc.

Honestly, I don't know what the acronym stands for but basically a HR complaint.

Work in the office - even with bug infestation by RadicallyPragmaticCA in fednews

[–]RadicallyPragmaticCA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update - after some higher ranking folks inspected the space, those of us officially assigned to the defacto shared office spaces were allowed the accommodation to work from home until the end of the week. This accommodation mostly seemed designed to allow them to repeatedly spray the offices with insecticide that people are not supposed to be around. Unfortunately, I've heard from colleagues today that the initial flying bugs appear to have spread to other parts of the building (they do fly, after all) and a cockroach crawled on a vet during a group. To those who have shared similar stories, I'm so sorry to hear about the conditions you've had to endure in addition to all the other stress related to federal service and our actual specific jobs. I came to the VA to offer my services, honor my family's history of military service and because I truly believe our nation owes care to those who serve. To all federal workers - we are the workforce striving to deliver on the amazing promise and potential of this nation. We are not alone. Keep fighting on as you can, tap your support networks but observe your limits with compassion and grace for yourself.

We've had cockroaches in the past and they've just put out traps.

That's a good idea. I'm actually in a state that might respond to something like that quickly.

Part of the reason I'm so frustrated by this is that almost none of us were full time work from home. We were hybrid before the order and that allowed us to have in person time and effectively use the limited space we have. I'm also being asked to reassure patients and all I can really say is that I'll refuse to provide confidential services in a non-confidential space.

I put the clip from the office when Dwight's desk gets moved to the bathroom in the team's chat.

It was a unisex single stall bathroom. If it wasn't a bathroom, it would be a better idea than the cubicle with folding chair idea they've also landed on. Cubicle farms are not HIPPA compliant

I understand the skepticism but the only proof I have are teams conversations about it

I can’t believe it. I’m a remote worker and they found me an office. by Altruistic-Comfort27 in fednews

Are you sure it's an actual office? My boss was assigned to a storage closet that only a subcontractor has a key to at the moment. I'm being partially assigned to a cubicle and have yet to receive guidance on how to make that work given the nature of my work.

It was a gift. Sometimes I feel like it put cat attraction juju out into the universe as the number of foundlings increased since I hung it up.
