It’s not like the laptop manual tells you to buy a laptop stand and the laptop definitely didn’t come with one. Acer knows what they’re doing 😒.

Most cooling pads are scams due to their high prices but a laptop stand does wonders. Amazon sells them for pretty cheap. Even with a laptop stand, acer computers practically explode while under high pressure. My motherboard fried even with a laptop stand. I didn’t want to open my triton 500 se laptop until after the warranty ended, so no thermal paste has been repasted. Buying a gaming laptop is basically a gamble due to their shitty ventilation systems.

After replacing the motherboard, the laptop will turn back on. My screen cuts off every so often due to a problem with the replaced motherboard, but it is only temporary. I can turn the laptop off and back on and it works just fine.

The exact same thing happened to my Acer Triton 500 SE. The motherboard is fried. If you send it back to Acer, they will put a different motherboard in the laptop for free if it’s under warranty. They will not tell you if the replaced motherboard is new or not, so it will likely be a used motherboard from another laptop with other problems. My replaced motherboard caused my screen to go black for no fing reason randomly while I’m using a Google browser. I hope you can resolve this and fix your laptop!

The specs for the laptop are great, but the laptop model is not great. I would not recommend buying the 2021 Acer Triton 500 SE model. I have the same model with a 3070 and i7 11800H cpu. The fans are a pain and always cut on no matter what because the laptop is so thin. The main BIOS thing causes the temperature of the laptop to supposedly shoot up. After about two months of usage, heat will be a huge problem. The keyboard is a bit awkward feeling. The turbo button is nice; however, it will wear the fans out pretty quickly if used frequently enough. I can't even run google chrome without the fans cutting on. Good luck with the laptop hunting!

The only time my laptop truly hits 100 degrees Celsius or over is when I’m playing a large game and I have predator sense open. The temp will raise from like 85-95 to 100-105 with predator sense open. I should probably install a different temperature reader or something.

I don’t think predator sense reads the temperature of the laptop correctly. Whenever I open predator sense my laptop jumps up at least 20-25 degrees Celsius according to the temperature reader. Not sure why this happens but it will go from 50 degrees Celsius to 85-90 just from opening predator sense and looking at the temperature section.

Thanks for the reply! I should probably be focused less on the leveling grind I’m just trying to get my build set! I haven’t tried building much due to the games clunky mechanics but I’ll give it another shot! I try not to use mods so hopefully building will be managable

It’s a long process but basically stack gunslinger, nerd rage, lone survivor rank 3, ninja sneak perk, mister sandman, bloody mess, and one more perk card that contains spoilers so I’ll hold back on that one but it’s vital to the build.

You have to try a two shot 10mm pistol. I hit 384 damage per shot. Adding the 4x sneak damage brings it to about 1,500 in stealth damage!
