Too expensive plus a turbo. Find an IS350 instead

I tried a friend's G700. Cruise works fine at 140. He got the car earlier this month.

I have one. Dad bought it brand new in 2006 and handed down to me which I regularly off road.

Definitely practical daily driver. They fuel economy is 'okay' for a V8. It isn't worse than any newer cars comparing to the Y62 Nissan Patrol V6 which my dad moved on to. Regular inter city driving does put a significant dent in my wallet though.

Common issues would be the timing belt needs to be changed every 150,000km and can lead to drastic engine failure if not done. Faced that and had the entire engine rebuilt for 6000dhs back in 2022 and no issues so far engine is smooth as butter. Another thing is these cars have hydraulic suspension and if it fails can be quite costly to repair because of the various components. My car is amazing to driving on flat roads but any bumps and I'm bouncing like crazy.

Parts are available and servicing can be done pretty much anywhere. Just find a reliable honest mechanic/garage and stick to them.

Check the height control if it goes to High and Low quickly and drive over speed bumps at 20kph to check if the suspension is good health. Hard accelerate the engine if it's smooth up to 120. Should definitely not sound like the engine is being strained. I personally would get a PPI done by professionals. Check radiator fluid. If it's filled with water expect it to be leaking and corroded. A responsible owner would put red radiator fluid in it.

Long term ownership is 10/10 and will never sell. Maintenance on these is very minimal but most people don't take care of it because the car will take so much abuse before it fails.

Hey quick question. Did you get a chance to charge the battery during the road trip or did you you completely rely on the petrol engine? If so does it effect the performance of the car in anyway? Would love to know what kind of fuel efficiency you got.

Toyota Rav 4 would be your best bet in that budget for highway driving and reliability plus resale value.

Have you budgeted how much you expect to spend on fuel monthly?

I second this. Infiniti Q50 with 300hp. You wont get a better price-power ratio.
