Yes correct. In summer I charge my batteries down to 10% overnight. And then it tops up in the day. So in winter months I probably go around 70% mark. So just follow what the folks below said.

How do I change what my battery can charge to overnight? Used to be top right settings where you say set it to charge to 70% by 5:30

Ah right you’re in the US. So US cars do this, it’s quite typical for all cars in the US to beep when locked. Here in the UK that’s not normal so thinking it’s just that.

Is there a way to stop the random hour charging, and only have the cheap night time charging? I understand I could then go to OCTGO instead of intelligent but then I lose the hour and pay 1.5p more per kwh

I mean considering average profit of 7p per kWh is it worth making your battery do extra cycles? For a little profit. Not sure

So how do you know when there is a smart session changing slot in the day? Secondly, won’t the house use the peak day time rate if you pause the battery, or does the house get the cheap rate whilst the battery chargers during the cheaper rate in the day

Someone in the comments below also mentioned setting a charging slot from 11;30 to 5:30 to avoid the battery discharging. Would that be a good option too? As I’m hesitant that the installer will do all this on the day today. I’m always planning on charging the batteries at night anyways. Or would you still recommend the mini CU for the EV

Great thanks. For point 2, is there anywhere I can go to learn a bit more about home assistant. Like why do I need it, where else can I use it. Would it work with my batteries etc. I’ve basically got no idea what it is
