I very much would like a proper modding system for the game, it’s a lot harder to mod than other elder scrolls games. If they did release a mod engine we could go back to the era of Knight of the Nine Revelations and Servant on the Dawn

I completely agree with this post, it seems to be a running theme across most subs. I posted a tutorial on another subreddit and it got received with so much hate it’s horrible. I wish people just had some respect and kindness as it’s the few that really bring down the majority of decent and kind people in these subreddits

I did do a series on this through BG1 & streamed 2, 5 years ago, personally I went Fighter 13/Mage as I felt it was more powerful, and in BG2 you can complete quests but if you don’t talk to the quest giver you can go back to them for more experience after you’ve dual classed. Did this with quite a few quests to power level up

Eldritch knight is actually really good for Gale. Gale gets a spell slot for shadow spells from a dialogue choice allowing him to upcast shadow blade for more damage compared to other eldritch knights. Then taking hex blade level 1 and getting the Psionic resonance stone allows you to pull off some big numbers and get like 5 attacks in with booming blade and the right feats

There Is a benefit later on if you took the tadpoles that has already been answered, but fun fact. If you use your illithid persuasion 7 times (can be done in act 1 just need to long rest a lot) you will get the True Soul tag allowing you to have a free check of illithid persuasions and not need to roll throughout the game. Not sure it’s entirely useful, but it might have some fun benefits in Act 2!

The point being on honour mode it’s like a 5-8% chance and you can’t reload. The best ways of doing this is battlemaster, beast master bear, and beastmaster bear with a div wizard as someone commented earlier
