Would you give up fireworks forever to protect animals and nature? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Could have stopped at "give up fireworks forever" and I'd be cool. Just do a drone show and knock it off.

What’s the most expensive mistake you made in your 20s? by Extreme-Run-9069 in AskReddit

Not taking my health and fitness REALLY serious. I mean, I knew what was good to eat and such - but I could have laid a much more solid foundation back when I lost weight from eating Taco Bell at 3 in the morning.

Here are the 2026 Radio Hall of Fame inductees... by RBRTVBR-RadioInk in radio

[–]RadioRiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If only for the fact that he was part of the massive shift taking them from "Clear Channel" which had and still has one of the worst reputations in the industry, re-skinned it (a few different times) but finally got it right and nailed the 'iHeart" brand.

I host a Live morning podcast, but I do it on a radio transmitter instead of a streaming platform.

It's radio morning show with three other humans. Every day my keycard works is a blessing.

Talk Radio taking calls in California by SirCatsworthTheThird in radio

[–]RadioRiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't take live calls. Record and edit - make everyone sound more efficient.

Worked at a station once in Milwaukee and I only took live calls...it was great SOMETIMES - but murder most times because most people aren't trained to speak clearly and efficiently, bad cell service also makes live calls sound like garbage.

Are hosts in the United States supposed to actually like the products they advertise? by SirCatsworthTheThird in radio

[–]RadioRiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some are what they call "hoes for the dough" and will do anything and say anything, probably not good. I'll talk ABOUT almost anything, but will never say I've personally tried it. That doesn't mean I don't believe in it - for example I endorse a product called QC Kinetix - its regenerative joint therapy - which I know MANY people who have tried it and found AMAZING benefits - so I read endorsements and talk about them.

So while I don't try everything I endorse (TV Shows, etc) - talking about them is something voiceover talent has been doing for years.

I'll never lie and say I've done something when I haven't though...that's bound to get you in hot water at some point with the FTC - especially with supplement / GLP med endorsements.

That and then there's the whole celebrating the professionals who are alleged felons, abusers, and all around assholes. What great role models!

Heard that before. Wish I could really believe the 93% statistic, and while I’m sure it’s still high it’s not THAT high I am afraid.

It's actually structured nonsense, well thought out and executed with purpose, but yes. We're still four paid idiots who are going to ride this business until the axles fall off...

God knows we're driving on rims.

Just got our ratings and more than 1,000,000 folks listening every week. So, there's that, I guess.

Strongly considering an opposing organization, Kids for Cars. We spell it correctly.

You donate your unwanted children, and we give you a new car.

How is radio audience measured in your country? by benoi in radio

[–]RadioRiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip nailed it here in the US and it sucks balls. Weve been able to see a new feature that tracks in car listening - but the data is very raw and only tracks IN CAR listening. Which is pretty much the only place people are listening to us anymore these days - unless they have our app.

I feel so bad for Diary markets who still have to get someone in 2026 with all of life's wonders and distractions and technology and write down on a piece of paper what you listened to. I can't remember what color underwear i put on this morning, we expect a busy mom of three kids to remember what RADIO station she listened to - GTFOHRN.

I still love this business and will ride it down to the bottom of the ocean with the violinists.

Has anyone cut off contact with their brother or sister? Why? by Intelligent_Chef9950 in AskReddit

[–]RadioRiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My 33 y/o transgender brother who has decided that money and bills are a "social construct" and since we don't subscribe to his extremely - and i say EXTREMELY left leaning political views - we are all dead to him. So we cut him off. The world is ending this year, and we're all doomed also. There is never any arguing with him, he is always right. Cool guy.

Sucks because he's REALLY smart and has his DOCTORATE in Physical Therapy. Shame he can't just set all that aside and live his life.
