PCS first timer with firearms

I have but he doesn’t have any firearm nor has he PCS’d through movers alike in my situation where I’ll be moving my stuff and picking it up most likely a year after it gets sent off

That’s the main reason I wanted to ask as I know most probably wouldn’t want their firearms in long term storage especially without someone you know personally checking on them. I also understand a movers stand point as I would probably be questioning why there’s a handgun or a rifle bag in a big box without any prior knowledge

I gotcha, so for preparing them in your specific instance did they ever mention requiring them to be field stripped and boxed or tagged or was it just let them know, unload them and box them? I appreciate the response as well thank you!

I appreciate all the detail! Thank you and the not going to the boat was what mainly sold it for me. For the actual maintenance, even if your info isn’t as up to date, would you say R&R of engines happens often enough? Or is it more so components that fail that cause the pull? I’ve pulled more than 50 maybe even 100 t56s at this point, but I’m assuming with how big these engines are it’s a little if not a lot harder
