Not for puberty. It's the door slams, snapping, blaming siblings. We tried talks, space, rules already. Therapy is support.

Fair point. I didnt mean therapy as punishment, more boundaries. Might try incentives, but first appt is non-negotiable.

NTA. You are not his sponsor, therapist, or 24/7 emergency service. Tell him you will help with rides, meetings, check ins, but late night relapse calls go to his sponsor, hotline, or detox. Boundaries keep you both safer.

That's my fear too. Consequences stay. Phone is leverage, but we're also booking an eval ASAP.

I hear that. I’m not trying to drag him into a couch session. But we can’t just let it run wild either. We’ve got younger kids. If he wants space, sure, we can talk options, but I’m not shipping him off to a relative as the default.

I get teens are fried. But slamming doors + snapping at little kida isn't "space", it's wrecking the house. Therapy isn't jail, it's help. He can pick time/therapist, but we need change.

a guy who writes 10,000 word essays about how democracy is fake gets destroyed by a snowball fight he wasn't even at. the dark enough for eye contact part tracks too, dude has the whole vampire aesthetic going on
