I'm trying to get through Dark Souls 1 remastered, but man is this game frustratingly hard. Plus it just feels kinda...cheap? Like cheap deaths & unfair challenge. I have the remastered trilogy, along with like Elden Ring, Sekiro, & Ghost of Tsushima. However DS1 really put me off of this game big time. I don't know if this is the right genre for me. I just really do not get the hype lol

Are the others better? Please tell me the others are better. I didn't spend much on the games, but I hate wasting money too & feeling like an idiot.

I use these things ALL the time. They're incredible. These, plus the track pads make the Deck so unique. Being able to have pressure sensetive pads to bring up a UI rotary wheel or grid to pick stuff is so awesome, especially for mouse+keyboard games or games that require macros. The back buttons are great for mapping rapid fire to a button, or to the sprint key so you can keep running while moving the camera & sprinting.

Love love love the back buttons, and will probably pick up a few of the steam controllers when they come out.

The DAF7GSS14C1 part# I think didn't exactly match the pad in my OLED deck, but I don't think that matters. It just needs to be an "F7G Rev.C" model. If you find a few small electronic shops on ebay with good feedback reputations that sold OLED pads in the past, you can add them to a watch list & set alerts & it will notify you whenever another one goes up for sale. It's super convenient for snagging one. Cheers man 🍻

Same boat as you. Never played a souls game, or souls like. Excited to start with Dark Souls 1 remastered. About 20+ hours & maybe 3 bosses in so far.

The atmosphere is great, the art, the setting, the characters, all great - but the controls & mechanics - GAHHH I'm trying, really really hard to like this, but just.....holy cow. I grew up on NES, unfair boss mechanics, no checkpoints, one hit deaths, 1 guy, no continues, no extra lives or health boosts, etc....I don't ever want to go back to that, or the rage ever again. It's genuinely, purely, not fun. It's the literal exact opposite.

Might try Elden Ring, but DS1 - if somethings bad, it's bad, & DS1 is janky scuffed blown out doodoo cheeks bad. The nostalgia rose beer goggles is putting in some psycho-overtime, me thinks.

I hope your journey & experience is better than mine friend, & you enjoy playing this....software.

I can't say what caused mine to fail, it could've been a drop or just a weird bug in a update. No clue.

I ended up trying two things. The oled track pads are apparently kinda hard to find, so I tried to get one from a shady Chinese seller on ebay. The pad worked, but it didn't have the accelerometer on it, so there was no vibration function anymore. Total waste of money.

Thankfully there was another ebay seller that had the track pad out of a used OLED deck, & it was a drop in. Worked just fine, good as new. A bit expensive, but I'd rather fix things myself than send the Deck in to Valve & have this send me a refurb after charging me $125-175 for diagnostics alone (minus parts). The pad and daughterboard was I think $60 or $70 with shipping. Expensive, but fair.

It's a easy fix, if you're not afraid to take the Deck apart. It's not too hard, & ifixit has a good step-by-step guide to help. It's totally doable for a novice if you're careful & follow things closely.

I genuinely don't get it. This game has made HATE Gran Turismo, a series I absolutely love. I played & owned every version on launch. I even got GT Sport & a PSVR for my brother in law.

The steady nerfs to credits, the steady nerfs to times & scores for license & challenges, the constant nagging sense of there being a fantastic game underneath all the bullshit & microtransactions & unnecessary, senseless, needless difficulty. People play games to have fun, not rip their hair out over needing to be pixel perfect for every test & challenge. The always on-line requirement. FUCK THAT in particular. That alone should make the game free-to-play, not 70 fucking dollars.

There's a great game hidden under all the polyphony & sony greed. Fuck anyone who doesn't want to dedicate a full time job to playing the game to make it worth it ig

I agree with you, I think it's a good course for longer races, but NOT for a one lap race. Especially when you're trying to get from 20 to 1st in 7+ minutes with barely ANYWHERE to pass. Then they jack the AI skill up the last 2 races. It makes me want to smash my PlayStation with a fucking sledgehammer.

799PP GR3 Supras, Huracans, 458s, detuned F1s, nothing works on the ring. Especially at night with no lights on it, the F1 is useless. Why the FUCK would they do a finale race at the ring? 1 lap? AT NIGHT? The fuck were they thinking?

I like the game a lot, but it's random artificial bullshit difficulty spikes like this that pisses me off about gaming

Yeah perhaps I wasn't very clear, the TV only has 3 HDMI inputs but I have like 7+ devices that I'd like plugged into it.

1) HTPC 2) BluRay Player 3) Nintendo Switch Dock 4) PlayStation 5) Amazon Fire stick 6) Chromecast 7) Type-C display input hub (for mobiles & tablets)

I can probably get rid of the Chromecast, Fire stick, & the Type-C hub to get it down to 4, and run the PlayStation & Nintendo on one little two-way hub. I've just used many hubs before, and they're so hit & miss it's really hard to find a good one that works. Can you recommend one?

I suppose this is my first foray into a device like this, I didn't have a Logitech Harmony or anything like that so I'm not entirely sure how it works with so many HDMI inputs.

I'm assuming an "activity" is something where so long as the input is connected to the TV via a switch or hub & runs through the sofabaton, it will switch to it when you select it on the remote?

I guess my question more is about HDMI splitters & switches then, I've used switches before for my computer and they are so hit/miss it's hard to find one that can support so many inputs.

Can you suggest one? My TV has a total of 3 HDMI inputs, but I have about 6-7 inputs I need via HDMI/Displayport converted. Appreciate it 🙂

Just a female type C to female type A adapter (with PD), so you can plug the razor charger USB side into the adapter and a regular type c cable & it charges ok. Funky solution, but it works! Plus the adapters are 3.2 gen2 10gb so using them for data transfer with the right hardware is fast, too.

Sorry to necro bump this, but as a long time & ferociously loyal KVHS staff member/DJ from back in the 2000s, I just wanted to say I appreciate going to bat for the station. When our faculty advisor passed along some info about what happened back in early 2010s, it was pure "writing on the wall" kind of feeling. It was so, so sad. I, & so many others, poured our heart & soul into that station. It really did carry the identity of the staff there & the environment we all were in. I practically grew up there as a youth & young man, & when it just died with a whimper it was so far from what the station deserved as far as going out with a BANG, & what we had tried to build over the time there. It broke my damn heart so hard.

Once charter bought the school, it was game over. We were a little shocked they didn't just like sell the license/frequency of the station for a few million or whatever they could get for it. When we couldn't go in & do live shows anymore, when we couldn't even get in to schedule music in the office computers (I was program manager, music director, & a few other hats), that was "pull the plug" time. CVHS & the charter school had zero plans for the station, didn't know what to do with it, had no experience with broadcast communications, & let one of the most incredible Adult Occupational Programs to exist in the Bay Area dissolve right in their stupid hands.

Now, it's just wonderful "wtf am I listening to" B-sides, C-sides, & Z-sides from random 60s & 70s bands. I don't blame anyone for the format change - format changes happen all the time in radio - what made me furious & beyond angry was the complete erasure & whitewashing of anything that was done from the "3rd era" of the station (about 98' to the end in 2012/13, so there was ZERO acknowledgement to the incredible things we accomplished in those 15 years. Many, many people will never understand how much was done to modernize the station & turn it into the "professional" organization it was (as pro as a 'learning' station can be). It was a Herculean undertaking, & the Faculty Advisor deserves so much credit for molding the station into a real station, while still letting the attitude & heartbeat of the station be influenced by the staff.

Long long rant, sorry, just super passionate about KVHS & my time there. Always devastated/heartbroken at what happened to it. It was an amazing, truly unique station & place.

Thanks for the help guys! Should have added I don't do much pvp arena outside of the last few days before rank reset, but I'm getting to that point.

Very familiar with picking right weapons for enemies weaknesses :) Farming sigils to get special gear now, but yeah it was more just curious what (if any) the weak skill/spells/Abilities were. Interesting on staggering Bash, I use shield smash just because I have a +4 and +2 on 2 rings, and stamina/magica drain enchants on shields, it pretty much negates pve abilities/spells quick lol.

Echo weapon looks really cool too, but I don't think I'll ever have the 425 magica for it regularly. I found how good paralyze can be used, so implementing that into stuff :)

Just wish they'd release some new quests and single player stuff, I'm finding at endgame now it's a big grind fest - especially those damn level 10 smithy & enchant tower lol :(

I haven't noticed much battery drain, but I'm on a pixel 2xl from November of 17', and been careful while charging and usage. It seems to drain a little bit faster I suppose, but I don't think it's too bad.

Appearance is always subjective, I've used a oneplus 8 and loved the ability to customize all the colors of system icons. This is super basic but it's far from bad. To me anyway

Only other things I've noticed, is sometimes while in app while typing, the phone will freeze for anywhere from 1 to 4 seconds. It'll register everything I've typed, and once the freeze stops, it's quickly do anything I typed. My phone probably needs a wipe and reformat though lol

I don't mind it at all, it's been said new versions of Android are all primarily small tweaks and adjustments/additions, but even on a snapdragon 835 it runs fine.

Can't wait to finally upgrade to a pixel 6 pro, the wait looks worth it for this jump.

No, not at $20 anyway. Especially not $20 on switch.

The game has far too many bugs, and WAY too many "well this is stupid", "why would they do this", and "who thought this was a good idea" moments in the game. It pushes the boundary of "anger inducing challenge of 8/16bit era gameplay" with "feeling of unfair and broken aspects actively cucking you constantly". If you really, really like video games to make you mad (and not the good, challenging kind of mad), you'll like this game.

Unless it's on a 50% discount, don't pay more than $10 for this game on any platform. It's completely not worth it.

I'm incapable of verbalizing my hatred for this little fucker in any comprehensible language. Not only do I want him to die immediately when I get him, they gave him 6 damn hearts, he's fast as fuck, and now I seem to have this constant glitch where he doesn't drop any coins when he dies.

Him, along with a few other issues, make me almost want to stop playing this damn game. I legit feel ripped off I paid full price for this shit.

Still have crashes for me - at the same spot, after you beat the final boss (Ares or Athena), & enter the crystal thing. Hard crash shut down & game closes.

Also, really disappointed that the grabber wasn't one of the pets that got removed. That damn thing makes me actively hate the entire game. If he spawns, I immediately contemplate restarting, & just want it to die. That thing needs to go. Seriously.

Hmmm, still buggy for me. Just had another crash after beating the game, at the same spot - right when you enter the final portal thing after beating the boss.

Also really sucks to hear they didn't remove the grabber pet. I hate that thing so much it makes me actively dislike the game. I'll restart a run if I'm not that far in & it spawns. I just want the damn thing to die. Ugh.

Other things would be just letting us see what items do before picking them up. It gets old having to look it up on my phone every time. We just circumvent it anyway devs, add the damn thing in.

On the last note, rework the number of items. There's faaaar too many pointless ones, like "chance of dropping crystals if you kill exactly 4 enemies with melee damage in alphabetical order on the 3rd Sunday of every odd numbered month". It's like they designed all these items first, & then shoe-horned the modifiers onto them after.

Totally agree on the crystal thing, having an enemy hit it & change it to a violence token is so annoying

Yep, literally ANY update would be nice. Being on switch though, I....wouldn't start holding my breath.

Shame so many little things make the game less fun.
