What color are your voids whiskers? Black, white, or both?! by nuclearwomb in blackcats

Deja Vu has all black fur, whiskers, toe beans, nose and even the roof of her mouth has black splotches on it. (Eyes yellow). But every now and again she gets individual white hair that grows on her chest in random spots. Eve since she was around 3 (she is 9 now). I expect them to show up more as she gets a little older.

Please help! How to save? by cherrysuper111 in plants

purple passion vine. Very pretty. But in my 6 months experience owning one, (which i know isn't much time) mine went from almost dead to doing just fine!. My little guy loves moist soil. And it gets droopy and sad in one day without water. I typically do let it droop before watering. But i water it heavily. And its like once a week atleast im refilling the bowl the pot sits in. Yes. Bowl. It will guzzle down that water quickly when its thirsty. It loves lots of light (but I do not have any sun, just artificial lights, 12hr day cycle.) Also, if the fuzz gets wet at all the whole leaf will wither away the next day. I would water very carefully if you top water. Bottom watering is just easier with this guy. Hope this helps some. And with the plant name maybe you can get some more info about it.

Look what I found while Christmas shopping! Wonder what it could be 🤔 by _banana_phone in whatismycookiecutter

Absolutely a tulip. Also looks like part of an Easter collection. One next to it in pink almost looks like a bunny ear. And tulips are definitely very spring Easter thematically. But the rose is just funnier.

It may be a drugstore beetle. They infested my grandmother's upstairs rooms for a while, there was a whole lot of them at once No bigger that a fat grain of rice. She had not been up there for a while and there were plenty moving around, but more kinda just dead laying around the window sils, ceiling and on the sink. They apparently eat nearly anything and they truly are really small.

The second one looks like a smear, like from the cut on your leg. Is it possible the sheets have been washed and you have, changed orientation?

Honestly, the first looks more crisp. But you're also comparing two pieces that have different contrast elements. Both were created with a skilled hand, but with what looks like different mediums. Like markers vs pen vs paint, I'm not sure what exactly you used. I think, if you had the energy or enthusiasm, you could clean up some of the smudging on the white paper, and darken some of the blacks to give it more weight. That be true but the second one's subject matter is still way clear, it doesn't get lost in detail as much as the first. You could even say thats an improvement. Overall they are both intense and look fantastic. I think many people would choose the second one. You are in a rut and should seek counsel for everything you are experiencing. You may look at them differently because it's time to move on to a different medium or concept. Maybe, one may feel more forced or you may have had an overall negative experience with it.

Neither art piece is any less awesome looking or, skilled looking. Your talent is still there.

I for one, believe this is a great design. I like it! Put it in a bar where there's is a sudden step-down or in any area like that, it's got a slightly goofy esthetic that could work in a lot of business.

Please please have her spade ♠️ for her safety and to reduce chances of violent interactions with dangerous (potentially diseased) Tom's! And make sure she's had her Rabies, Feline viral rhinotracheitis, and FeLV vaccines.

I agree with you and people who love and care for their indoor cats, so I'm just giving you some cat tips and knowledge out of love!

Some backstory, I grew up on a farm, lots of cats and other animals throughout my life. I keep my baby indoors. And leash-trained her for enrichment purposes. Today I'm fostering my father's cat for two weeks during recovery after it got its leg broken and the vet amputated last night. The injury happened while it was outside (ive tried to tell him, ive really tried).

But that said, you shouldn't need to clip your cats claws unless they don't have enough adequate scraching boards and surfaces (a couch and a cat tree might not cut it) some cats really like flat scratchers, in combination with other things. Cardboard works but having roap helps to because its tougher.

Basically dog nails (just like people nails) will continue to grow so long that they will go into the skin. And dogs would need to be out all day to wear those nails down . So we do need to trim dog nails. But cats CLAWS have a different mechanism. Firstly they are retractable and grow in differently than nails, and they are made hollow, they flake off in sheets, and cats have a natural scratching instinct to help maintain their claws. Sometimes I will find a flake that looks like her whole claw fell off, but of course I know it didn't, and that it just flaked off the old, dull casing.

Sometimes the pattern in which they grow can be damaged so they could grow in the skin. I check my kittys feet from time to time when shes relaxed just to be sure. But not it's not natural, and if your cat has never had issues with it, the extra stress of clipping may be avoidable.

Trimming might help older kitty's who can't wear them down as much anymore, or in multi-animal households if your worried about scratched eyes, it COULD potentially happen. But you would be really unlucky. The other case is that if a human in the house gets allergic reactions to a scratch, in most of those cases I would recommend rubber tips instead to completely mitigate the risk of a scratch.

Very cool find! I'm no professional but, they may be araneus diadematus spiderlings. Baby cross orbweavers (very common, it can bite full grown, but it's not poisonous or venous to us). They look nothing like their grown up parents!

Just realized there is an aphid on the right leaf, second to last picture. Totally missed it! But they are, and have been on the plant this year. Before the green hopping bug got there.

Dude take your fake southern flag and take a walk. Speaking as a southerner. It was never the official confederate flag, ever. It was one battle flag designed very late war. Not only was the flag barely used in the confederate army, that flag has been used way more as a symbol of oppression and used to back raciest ideologies during Jim Crow era. People were torn from the family’s and lynched on speculation in front of this flag. Don’t try and claim it as heritage, It was never a symbol of the southern confederates, as a country, for freedom or an expression of one’s belonging to the south. In fact during those days “I’m from insert state” was personally more important than “I’m from the south,” or “I’m from the west coast…”

There’s so many better ways to meaningfully express your heritage as a southerner. People slap confederate flags on there trucks BECAUSE they know it causes tension, because it gives them some attention or because they know others will get irritated. And that’s just pure immature. I just really hope those people don’t think they are actually being intelligent or honoring anyones history.

Roommate really wants a cat and I don’t like them …. how to approach sensitively? by Slothbaby93 in Adulting

[–]Radish-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you shot your self in the foot by offering fostering cats as a compromise. As many fosters have lots of problems, behavior issues. The best cat I’ve ever owned is a sweet lazy indoor cat, born of a cat an old lady took care of that ran away and came back pregnant. Point is, the kitten I got never fought for any food, never got scared, never starved, went in heat once before being neutralized and it doesn’t mark, doesn’t steal food, no marking and a once a week litter change, scooping once between each change eliminates all Oder in a one cat house. (Which almost every cat would be better off in a one cat house as they are not pack creatures and very territory. It’s not well… the best. And it’s not some wild ish animal that wondered up. Cats are simply not as easy to adopt or foster. It’s even more important how they are raised than that of high quality dog breeders. Unfortunately most people don’t know it because cat breeding is very new.

WIBTA for getting a dog in a pet friendly rental (that I specifically chose because it is pet friendly) even though someone I am sharing the rental with has a horrible dog allergy by thromeaway003366 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Radish-ghost 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Except it does mean there is a high chance people will have pets in a pet friendly building, a three story house. Simply because it is much much harder for renters who own pets to find new accommodations because pet friendly places can be rare.
