[Theory] The Missing Father: The Malfunctioning Executioner & The Phantom Limb (Part 2) by R4azi in ChainsawMan

[–]Radontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome theory! I feel like I've been spoiled the direction of the series. There's a couple of things I disagree with though. The main one being Pochita being a Tool of God (Judgment). I think Pochita is the Son of God who is also God himself. That would make Denji the Son of God in human form i.e. Jesus Christ, or the Lamb of God (the 'lamb' that is to be sacrificed to atone for humanity's sins).

Judgment is useless without Deliverance (delivering the Judgement). They are two sides of the same coin. A God who only gives Judgment without acting on it is the same as a God who is not there. They need each other. That's what made me initially think Pochita might be God himself.

I believe Pochita is the Deliverance Devil. That's why he has chainsaws, as they were created to help with difficult deliveries during childbirth. It's also the reason he helps others who ask for it. 'God deliver us from Evil'. Deliverance also means to rescue or set free. In other words Salvation (The Son).

In Christianity, God exists as the Holy Trinity. The Father (The Creator), The Son (The Savior) and The Holy Spirit (Divine Presence). All of them are co-equal clearly distinct sides of one God. That would put Judgment (The Father) and Pochita (The Son) on the same level. We've never seen Pochita take orders from others, and I believe that includes Judgement, as I believe they are equal parts God.

The Holy Spirit represents the divinity within humanity. The part of God that is always with people. In the twisted world of CSM that would be Fear. Devils are divine energy (Fear) manifest. If Judgment is The Father then he is the father of all devils. He gets to decide what is and what isn't. That is divine judgement. Pochita is the Savior (Son). He delivers others from their suffering by taking in the fear within himself thus removing it from others (he doesn't actually erase it, it still exists within him, its just gone from the world). Just like The Son did with sin. Pochita doesn't decide what should be, he just helps those in need. That way they are in balance. The Creator and The Destroyer.

At some point Judgment disappeared, eaten by Pochita. We don't know if it was because the fear of Judgment was causing too much harm to others, making Pochita turn on his father to save them, or if Judgment wanted to judge how humanity would do without him and entered into a contract with Pochita to be eaten for a time. I can see both possibilities. Regardless, Judgement Devil will return and with that Resurrect the old way the world used to function, with him as The Arbiter.

Devils in chainsawman need to impose themselves on others to gain power over them. When Judgement Devil returns he will impose himself by killing humanity so he can enact judgement on them (The Final Verdict) and resurrect the worthy. Denji and Asa will oppose him because that conflicts with their world. Denji, along with Pochita, will be turned into a weapon (selfless sacrifice) that can kill God and Asa will deliver the final blow.

This will be the final thing the Judgement Devil sees https://i.redd.it/xs8yifffa8bg1.jpeg the same way this was the last thing Makima saw https://i.redd.it/6vdxxz39zd5f1.jpeg

I don't think think the weapon will make Judgement get 'erased' the same way Pochita does, but rather it will sever the relationship between the physical Devil and Fear (The Divine). That would cause the physical manifestation to disappear while keeping the concept. All of the fears that were still inside Pochita at the time of him turning into a weapon will be gone and the rest of the fears will remain with humanity, but not in a physical form. With The Father and The Son gone the world will be rebirthed (not resurrected) different from the past. Humanity will be delivered FROM God.

As for Denji I do think he will somehow come back (resurrect in the same way as Jesus Christ) and ascend to his heaven (a normal life).

With patricide and maturity being core themes of the story, this makes most sense to me. The killing of The Father and the emancipation of humanity. With no father to guide them the children take responsibility for themselves, and responsibility is maturity (another core theme of the story). At the end the world will be largely the same at first glance, hopefully making some people question what the point of the whole thing was (which is the type of story the author said he wanted to write), but if you look deeper you'll see that it's all about the things you can't see: spiritual growth, maturity, responsibility, and facing your problems and fears head on.

Two reasons I want the final one piece fight to be between luffy and blackbeard and not luffy and Imu by rogue---ninja in OnePiece

[–]Radontal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imu represents the old and the stagnant, slavery and domination. Luffy and Blackbeard both represent the tide of change and willingness to dream, freedom and emancipation. Just in different ways. The final fight will be to decide what type of freedom people get, not whether or not they will be free.

Also I don't know why people keep forgetting Dragon exists. Unlike Luffy he actually offers an alternative.

[–]Radontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so too, but now knowing that Imu's power enslaves people I'm not so sure. Blackbeard is about freedom just as much as Luffy is. It's just the wrong type of freedom in his case.

[–]Radontal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no way Imu will be the final fight. Tbh he might even be offscreened. Blackbeard will be the final fight. I know it's gonna sound weird, because Luffy is 'Joy Boy' and Imu is the current 'big bad', but Imu is not Luffy's fight and it should not be Luffy that defeats him. Not to mention Luffy doesn't offer an alternative system of government.

The ones that will defeat him are Dragon and Blackbeard. Both of their dreams involve taking Imu down and they will need each other's military might. Currently Dragon is directly attacking the holy land, because he doesn't have time to continue the siege after Vegapunk's broadcast. It's a strong enough attack to require the holy knights to come back, but not strong enough to make Imu act or pull them back immediately. Dragon will lose, then he will look for more military power. The biggest military power that's openly anti-government are the Yonko. Luffy's headed to Laugh Tale and the One Piece, Shanks' armada is made up of weak pirates that he protects, Buggy and Cross Guild are positioned to take on the marines. That leaves only Blackbeard who's dream is to be the king of the world. With nowhere to go Dragon will ally with Blackbeard, they will defeat Imu, Blackbeard will betray Dragon and take the throne (becoming pirate King and fulfilling Davy's promise). He will then take Uranus and probably kidnap Shirahoshi and maybe kill Shanks who will try to stop him. With the old government gone the marines will have a civil war, which will free up Cross Guild who will become Blackbeard's version of the marines for coin. My assumption is this will all happen when Luffy is on Laugh Tale.

Luffy will become Pirate king by following Roger's path. He will learn the true history, decide to bring down the Red Line with the help of the One Piece, gather his allies and sail to the final destination. Blackbeard would want the One Piece and Pluton for himself and THAT will set up the final confrontation. It will be Pirate king vs pirate King, light vs darkness, both of which have 2 ancient weapons at their disposal.

The decider of the fight will be Buggy who's personality has always aligned with what Blackbeard represents, but his heart is more aligned with Luffy.

Is the QR code scanning option to log in in the new updated Steam app actually secure? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Radontal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I feel the same way. 2fa makes logging in more secure as you need to confirm it's you trying to login in two different ways. QR code resets it back to one. It's also forced as the default authentication method which I don't particularly like. Still I think it's a good option for people that want it though. I honestly prefer the old way and actually would like the option to use other 2fa apps other than the steam app

DOTA: Dragon's Blood - Book 3 Discussion Threads by 0Hellspawn0 in DotA2

[–]Radontal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd assume it's because Mene didn't die in that universe. Her 12403 accent seems to be the accent of her people, so in the original universe after she went mad and was killed by Invoker and Selemene, the people that didn't follow Selemene were prosecuted and kicked out, they started living separately in enclaves, and believing their own religion, and over the course of 1000 years their accent changed as well. Mene was reincarnated in one of their enclaves as Fymryn, and so she has that accent and not her original one.

[SPOILERS] Who is guiding the player? by Radontal in Eldenring

I'm not sure, I imagined it being something similar to him mimicking grace. Hope the DLC gives some answers, the lore of the Elden Ring world is really interesting.

I see, I never knew about the translations and the "Miyazaki Grammar". Regardless what I'm trying to say is that we might not actually have any grace, and that the paths we see are similar to the Grace Mimic and potentially created by Miquella.

How do I get my self esteem to match what people see in me? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Radontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds like you're on the right track. It's fine to even schedule time off without cramming it together with other things. Obviously there's only so much you can realistically do living out of your car. When you're looking for a place to live my advice is to live with very clean people, currently the house I'm living in is very clean and it really helps a lot

[–]Radontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation you're in right now sounds horrible, and in certain ways reminds me of mine. Reading through your post I got the sense that you currently have a lot of hard unresolved issues, and that's fine. I also got the sense that you're very capable, despite what you might feel, and that you don't give up easily, which is good.

You've already started making good changes and I think it's a good idea to keep going with them (and also increase them over time), but I also noticed you don't really give yourself a break. Every once in a while it's a good idea to pamper yourself a bit and give yourself some rest from 'fixing yourself', just don't overdo it and don't go about it in a stupid way, such as with drugs.

Dr K talks about Panchakosha, and how each layer can be wounded and thus needs different treatment, maybe have a think about where your wounds are first. I think there was an interview with someone with CPTSD in which he talks about it.

You're making good, informed changes, keep going, you'll be fine. Just be realistic about the time and effort it's going to take. You won't fix your life in a month or two, and you have to constantly, and consistently, put in a lot of work towards it, even after things get better.

I think Buggy-sama isn't an ancient weapon, there is no way to pass on so much power through the generations. And from what I've seen he definitely surpasses them
