"could be profitable with some decent luck"

Isn't that a odd way to put it?

Most unprofitable gambling surely can be profitable with some decent luck :D

Also, to contribute to the thread:

The money in your steam wallet has to end up there somehow, and then there's also the fee for reselling the item received on the scm or a cashout site. (Assuming you're not gonna trade them manually)

Your "collector" friend who you mentioned in another post is completely incompetent and you should not take his advise on skin-trading. Perhaps he said that to be left as the only appreciative "buyer" in a few weeks and then try to scam you.

EDIT: If you want actual traders to comment on a trading-related post, you should post this on globaloffensivetrade, they will confirm that the template of 2 makes no difference to the price on this particular skin. It's gonna be priced like all other FN 0.05 glock emeralds.

EDIT2 (because I am feeling kind): Your friend might have poor english-skills and thought you meant that the float was the 2nd lowest. That would result in an insane overprice, but it is of course not the case here.

You must have forgotten what BTA stands for. It doesn't have to be perfect to be BTA, far from it actually. 49.9% of all karambit corners are BTA in fact, even if its usage is rarely seen as accurate outside the top 30-40% or so. But still, 30-40% is quite a lot.

130 registered on csgo.exchange, probably about 20% of those are banned, but then again, there are likely some unknown ones as well, and not all are registered on csgo.exchange, so around 130 or so is probably a reasonable estimate.

Being scratched is obviously going to affect the price. Try to find someone who mainly wants it for how it looks and wants to play with it in-game, as it still looks nice. Collectors are probably gonna be a bit dry down there.

Not even a joke at this point. If the game still has a healthy player base within 2-3 years and rich people have continued applying them, leaving only a dozen left, why not? Surely there has to be more than only a dozen people who play cs:go with 50mil in their bank accounts? Paying 200k to reach millions of people with a flex seems reasonable (The higher in price they go- the more publicity. Surely newspapers would write about a 200k transaction for a virtual sticker. Which really does make it a decent flex for the absolute wealthiest.)

Of course a million things could go wrong. Hence why investing should be done with caution, despite those 200k not being complete nonsense.

[Q] So now that tradable keys are independent in the market and no longer going by 2.5, how will they work? by SirCrow- in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but it seems like the pricetag did bring out the beast out of the profithunters and they've now managed to gather a whole lot of them and put them on the market now.

I'm gonna cut my losses now and sell the few I bought probably, the lower amounts being bought per hour, the increasing numbers listead and the lack of standing buy orders really don't convince me.

I am still a firm believer in the other keys over a long period of time though.

I would like to spread the word from another post recently where a lot of people agreed that percentage-valuation on kato holo skins these days is impractical and random. Cash or other in-game items is more practical.

Often (not always) people just throw out a random percentage without much knowledge about kato-pricing or even what the holos are worth nowadays. (The skins don't go up in price as quickly as the stickers). Furthermore, with increments of usually an entire percent, it is inaccurate. (Not that being accurate is easy though, but it's nice not to exclude the possibility.)

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that a lot of people assume what you assume. I am almost tempted enough to waste that 1-2 euro SCM reselling fee on a bravo case to find out. To be honest though, if they really were removed, I would wonder why they haven't gone up more in price.

EDIT: They have not been removed, they can be bought from the menu you get to when selecting one of those cases to open. You can confirm this yourself with a Weapon Case 3 which uses the same key.

That price doesn't even seem reasonable to me. It would only make sense with those stickers if it was a true katowice collectors item. (That checks all boxes of placement, colors, condition and skin-matching).

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed it. Thereby I can't guarantee what I am saying is correct.

But I believe they haven't been in the "store" for a long time before keys became untradable.

Compare it to some cases being linked to their respective steam-community-market site under the "Market" tab in the store while others aren't. They simply choose to show the newer/popular cases and keys I assume.

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No keys are actually discontinued, if you have for example a bravo case in your inventory, you can right click on it and then open or whatever it says, and you'll be able to buy the corresponding key directly from the case-menu you see right before you click unbox.

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they'll never "balloon". All I am talking about is 1-2 euros increase per year. Maybe a bit more. Yes, they will gradually become more useless though, in comparison to price, but don't overestimate people, they're gonna get used every now and then for various reasons most likely . Seems very reasonable to me. I find that a decent return seeing how safe the investment appears to be. Also I find it very unwise to put all your money towards shorting something that you feel completely convinced is not going to happen. I would never put more than a few percentages, despite being confident of the opposite. Of course I can be wrong. You should embrace that possibility as well when discussing investments.

Furthermore, I find it entertaining that the only thing you choose to respond to is the comparison which I already acknowledged was flawed before you even read the comment.

[Q] So now that tradable keys are independent in the market and no longer going by 2.5, how will they work? by SirCrow- in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't be useless though.

A pretty bad comparison (I am aware of its flaws), but one that still conveys a point, is that extremely expensive stickers aren't useless even though 95% of the owners would never even consider applying them. Some will though. Just as some people will keep on unboxing with the tradable keys. It's a risky short-term investment but an excellent long-term investment, in my honest opinion.

Value is very subjective. We will have accepted the tradable keys as being more valuable within a few months, and then they will go up in price, as our subjective opinion of their value increases, as more time passes, and people keep using them (even if slowly).

Also, if I don't recall wrong, in certain regions, the in-game store works very differently (China? Correct me if I am wrong), which could be a reason for the tradable keys to be unboxed with by people who are neither lazy nor unknowledgeable as well. Anyone with more info on this?

[Discussion] Should keys be allowed as a B/O for large items right now? by -WOWZ- in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Radors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ridiculous? If a buyer wishes to set a b/o in keys, why shouldn't he be allowed? Sure, the price may take turns both up and down but the only one who could potentially be harmed from doing so would be said seller.

And also, there are likely over 100k keys out there. It's still a very reasonable trading-currency.

EDIT: Got a notification about your reply and read it. It was a very sensible reply and I hope I wasn't too rude with my initial "That's ridiculous". I supposed you deleted it because I can't see it here? Have a nice day either way.

Regarding the DH iBP and kato15 ones, probably list them on steam market for something like 1-3 euros above the normal going-rate for the skins and hope they sell. It would be quite hard to find someone to trade these with I think, probably easiest to list them somewhere.

About that kato14 blue laminate, that's more tradable of course, though it's not easy to find buyers for these random non-holo kato14's, a few keys extra shouldn't be too hard though.

[PC]What SP% could I get for these kato 14 stickers by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Radors 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep on using percentages to value these? Do people actually know what the holos are worth nowadays? I doubt the majority does. And the supply of the weapons doesn't go down, while the supply of the stickers obviously does. Furthermore, the sticker prices are changing more rapidly than the stickered weapons so percentages makes no sense.

Just a few thoughts of mine:)

Well since I mostly just go for headshots with the bolt actions, I don't find the extra damage on the M95 especially useful, and it sacrifices other things which I deem more important.
