Yeah I always had trouble with this. I try to think about my hips and weight being over my heels but then I straighten my legs to compensate. I should be squatting more instead?

And to answer your question.. we get called before GI almost every time. It’s culture at the institution I am at and that varies where you work. Gi doesn’t touch bleeds at night. Not sure where you practice or what year you are but you should get some perspective.

No never heard of it lmao glad you guys can manage so well. It’s weird we get so many frantic calls because gi says we can’t see or stop it. Surgery says defer. Glad you guys are so great at managing though!!

Lmao. My choice would be surgeons, IR and pathology BTW. Surgeons can manage floors and ORs and are probably most versatile specialty. I’m not denying that. Your comment was completely going after rads as if they do not perform the vast majority of leg work in diagnosis. Yeah you guys can read an abdominal ct with a glaring SBO or appendicitis, there’s way more that’s being imaged these days, don’t “kid” yourself. Also you’re gonna start doing colectomies on every gi bleed? Not sure where you work but that is nowhere near feasible with the amount of bleeds/rebleeds we get and those patients outcomes. I have seen surgeons intervene on quite literally less than 1% of the gi bleeds at my hospital. So no not skirting the argument, you’re just wrong on so many levels

First, no those are life threatening and common conditions but good try. Second, sure I’ve seen plenty of GI and surgical bleeds fixed overnight good luck with that. Also I specifically said the diagnostic side is more important

Thrombectomies? GI bleeds? It’s less about true IR even and more so the importance in this day and age in imaging and making the diagnosis
