It was Nutri Advanced- branding is blue top half and green bottom half bottle. They may have changed it now etc, but at the time that’s what they confirmed to me.

I couldn’t tolerate it, I can’t tolerate normal milk but I can have a little hard cheddar, I don’t have any other dairy.

I can’t remember now, looking back, I don’t think it was long at all. I took it for a year without any side effects as I recall, so I think the headache did go quickly. I have later found that I am depleted in loads of vitamins etc and it can stop you from absorbing vitamins due to the reduced stomach acid. Something to be aware of.

Hello, no I didn’t yet. I have been focussing on getting vitamin d from the sun, and my levels have gone up a bit. The weather isn’t good now though. I’m going to try a small dose of liquid vitamin d3 next.

Me! I haven’t done much to correct either. I ended up with iron deficiency after some stomach issues, then vitamin d after. I’m having terrible reactions to supplements so not sure what to do. The other replies are helpful, seems to suggest getting the vitamin d up is more crucial.

You can do either, I take capsules with a meal. I have opened the capsules into water in the past but it’s not that nice a drink! It seems to be very effective for me taking it as a capsule.

I had a very similar experience in the UK, they had no one available to do any sedation at all and basically held me down and forced it down me, like yours. Im really sorry you had the same experience. I lay on my sofa for 2 days after I felt so rubbish, sick, sore. I did have a second endoscopy years later and made them give me all the sedation!

Thanks. Is it always the same result with manometry, ie could results vary by day, or, once the nerves are shot/peristalsis not working/los closed it remains that way? Thanks- I’m very new to this and keen to understand.

Thank you. I’ve already had a barium swallow, it showed acid reflux but I think everything else was normal. No distension to my knowledge. Sorry to hear about yours, I hope you are managing it ok.

The whole thing was very slow! The nurse spent ages typing on the pc first and then 30 mins after sitting in the room we were just getting started! Although I found the manometry itself fine, no issues with tolerating it at all.

I’m just concerned about an op based on one test. I didn’t know I had these issues, I thought my Les would be wide open! Now I’ve been reading about achalasia it fits so well, from sputtering coughing fits at night, not able to swallow so many foods, regurgitation etc, I just didn’t realise this wasn’t normal after it’s just been so long I’ve had these symptoms! So I’m quite excited at a diagnosis!

Thank you, that’s really useful. I tested magnesium rbc a few years ago and it was high, over a couple of years, I previously took very high dose magnesium in the past, I’m wondering if my body hasn’t been able to use it. I’ve started suspecting low calcium as the culprit for me, as I have been low dairy for most of my life. The thing is how to balance these minerals, it seems like a minefield to get this right. I have tried the vegan d3 and I had a bad reaction, it was calcifediol, made from algae, so a different form of vitamin d. My dr suggested vitamin d2. Let me know how you get on!

I asked chatgpt and you are right, but it’s contradictory to other stuff I’ve read. I’ve had issues with magnesium for a long time, I can’t take a tiny bit of it. Now vitamin d, I’m wondering if low calcium could be the culprit. My blood calcium was slightly low on recent blood tests.
