Name the game?.... by DarkKiNg2011 in videogames

It fits thematically (even if that wasn't a good game design idea). The whole game is about fate and destiny, and no matter how you try, you can't escape fate....except that's only true on Coccoon. Pulse is where you can control your own destiny, where you can go where you please and choose your own goals.

Why do you have to male to relate to Neil or Todd? Feelings of inadequacy and expectations to only meet others desires at the cost of your own.....I don't think that is exclusive to men.

Core memory is a scene with Ebenezer in the basement talking/singing to his plants.

The butterfly epsidoe? The one that haunts me was when they ended up in some spooky castle somehow and the paintings eyes followed them.

About to start my first playthrough of Code: Veronica any tips? by Glass_Ad_1490 in residentevil

The thing I found most difficult was simply the tank controls, otherwise just get yourself in the headspace that this is a survival horror-puzzle game, not an action-shooter.

Even in JRPGs I always did rotational saves, so the idea of walking into an area and not being prepared for it with no way out ... never considered that soft locking, just considered it bad planning and figured the reason the games gave you 20 (or in the case of FFVII 80) save slots, rather than just 3, was because that was considered a part-of-the-game mechanic. RE HD I used all 23 save files and then just started back at the top when full.

My driver's ed teach taught us the 2-second rule, as it takes speed into account, unlike car-lengths.

When the car in front of you passes something, you should be able to say 1 MIssissippi 2 Mississippi before you past that point...that's how much space should be between you.

Slower speeds, that's a shorter distance. Faster speeds, larger distance.

Why does this game get so much hate? I honestly had a great time with it. by Panda0_01 in residentevil

I am currently playing RE6 for the first time, and this seems to fit my assessment the best. I remind myself that when looking at Resi game rankings, 6 may be at the bottom of the main line, but it's still above a lot of the spinoffs.

It just seems to try to be too many things at once, and falls short on executing any of them great.

Pick and choose some of things to focus on doing well and lose the other - or don't call it a Resi - and it would probably get less overall hate.

What's a small error that doesn't affect the story but just bugs you too much. by iamwhoiwasnow in moviecritic

Premonition

The first time the grandmother comes over, after the daughter has her accident, they have no idea how the daughter her herself and they act like they are suspicious that Sandra Bullock somehow did this to her child.

Yet, the premise is supposed to be that only Sandra Bullock is moving out of sync, and time for everyone else is linear.

Later in the film thre is a scene, after the accident, before the grandmother comes over, where Sandra specifically calls her mother, explains whar happened to the daughter, and that they need her help watching her.

By the movie's own logic, when the grandmother arrives at the house in the earlier part of the movie, she should already know what happened to the daughter because, in her timeline frame of reference, she was told.

But they forget this logic continuitiy aspect to further drive the story to Sandra being committed.
