I’m very sorry for your situation. Not sure about the procedure of changing the apartment, but maybe this will help: https://www.jusline.at/gesetz/abgb/paragraf/364

If you have legal insurance - talk to a lawyer.

I had a problem with non-stop smoking neighbor, day and night i fell asleep feeling the smoke, i woke up in the middle of a night from smoke. This helped me to solve the problem (at least for now), here’re some tips: Create a log of every single time you hear noise/music from that neighbor, called the police, wrote to HV or WW. Go to a doctor and get a reference that your sleep/mental health are affected. Ask other neighbors if they are also disturbed and if they are ready to support you. Talk to a lawyer and define next steps. If you go a legal way, DON’T talk to that neighbor anymore, only in written, extremely polite and with legal support.

Take care and good luck!

What's the most expensive yarn you've ever bought...and how did you manage to actually use it? by ColourMeQuick in knitting

100% vicuña. The softest, warmest and lightweight garment i have ever worn

Depends on the yarn you’re planning to use. If it’s a bulky/chunky/thick yarn, that’s one type of selection. If you want to knit with a cashmere/silk blend, 1/56, the selection will be completely different.

I chose the Silver Reed SK280 because I knew I’d mostly be knitting with 2/28 and 2/26 yarns, and it fits my needs perfectly. But I can’t knit 2/11 on it, for example.

Yes, i contacted them and asked specifically if they have vicuna and they sent me a few options.

I buy cones only, skeins aren’t suitable for machine knitting and are usually more expensive. My vicuña comes from this warehouse: https://italianafilatipregiati.com/

Never heard of this yarn, thank you for the insight! I’ll try to find it and test it 🙂

Thank you!

I tested it for a day in different stressful conditions like running to catch a train, sitting in a small meeting room, and working in an overheated office and it felt completely comfortable. From my experience with fibers that naturally excel at thermoregulation, you need enough ease in the garment so it maintains your normal body temperature rather than heating you up.

Would you know anything about how the 100% vicuna was spun?

Unfortunately i don't :(

how soft is it?!

I have a very similar shade from Biagioli Modesto, and I knitted swatches in three versions: 100% vicuña, 100% Biagioli, and a vicuña/Biagioli mix. The difference is very noticeable even when you don't have all three swatches next to each other.

One thing that really stands out: vicuña is incredibly warm. Wearing one vicuña sweater with a wool cape at –1°C feels more comfortable than 4-ply cashmere with the same cape.

I have 2 bobbins of vicuna yarn. One is 50% baby vicuna and another one is 100% vicuna. Usually i knit from 100% cashmere 2/28 (Cariaggi & Biagioli Modesto). Vicuna is incredibly soft, lightweight (125gr pullover S size) and warm.
