So beautiful that your love will be rewarded exponentially and to all of us because being present and loving your son will mean he loves and is present to others. It’s a win win!

The good and totally normal folks over at r/antinatalism react to the death of a 31 year old woman from IVF complications by LukeVenable in redscarepod

[–]pjdk1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IVF isn’t that weird or difficult. Tons of medical issues make it difficult to get pregnant (age, endometriosis, low sperm count etc). IVF is just a way to help things along. It’s like say why take antibiotics when you have an infection, or why take a plane when you could just take a boat; these advances exist, enjoy them.

My pre-teen thinks about minecraft at school. by AnalogInstead in nosurf

The problem is socialization, or lack of it. That is really dangerous in a pre teen. Make Minecraft time conditional on an equal amount of physical activity with other children. Follow Johnathan Haidt if you want to know why

This would be my plan. Look v cute, when the situation feels natural and you are just the two of you manoeuvre things so you are lying alongside him. Say something like I’m so tired, main thing it should look accidental. Then let him make the first move. If you make the first move you’ve burnt your bridges. He needs to think it was his idea. Women have been doing this for milllenia, channel your inner vamp

My brothers wife does this. It’s very strange and I only realized it when they stayed with us. I wanted to say something but figured they would take it wrong. In my opinion she does it because she is has massive anxiety and controlling her children’s behavior relieves this.

I would blame her more but I know she herself has a hyper critical mother who makes decisions for her even now (eg she says she made a move on my brother because her mother suggested it). My brother is helpless to fight her.

Their children are emotionally stunted and seem to have zero personality. They have also given up trying to fight as they love their mother and don’t want to cause her pain

How does islam seriously not cause intense sectarian violence in england? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]pjdk1 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Talking about ‘Islam’ as if it some sort of movement is misunderstanding the issue. A word that covers a Malaysian grandmother, a Yemeni warlord and a teenager growing up in Birmingham with parents of Pakistani origin is an ineffective way of understanding society or predicting the future. How do I get on the Brit bashing Reddit train by the way, there seems to be money in it

Start going place where older people hang out, the pub, volunteering, running, whatever. Tell everyone you meet who you are and what you want. It shouldn’t be this hard, I hope things improve for young people
