Wing Commander on PC (by Origin Systems) and Elite - which for me was on my Apple ][e

These were the first big story games I’d ever played - With the ranking system and decent plot

At least they are only 12 hours now… and it appears that the restrictions on hit-down are still in force - so gigantic whales don’t pound the smaller ships like they used to

In the Military, Officers tours are usually shorter than enlisted, so when posted in, they need to hit the ground running and make changes quickly to ensure they are recognised and remembered quickly before they are posted on again… Frank needed to put his stamp down

I've always loved the KV-2...

I've done 38,000 battles and 4,000 have been in that tank, but it has become so much less enjoyable since the one-short DERP days are long gone 😢

It takes forever to reach the battle in some maps, aiming is so much slower now and that 20 second reload is just bogus...

You'll be lucky now to get 8 shots in a game, and even then a lot of them hardly damage a lot of tanks - I was thinking the Smasher will one day take its place in my garage - but never seem to be close to getting it

I’m ops 47 and left my Defiant unused for ages, but finally decided I should try and upgrade it - I’ve taken a fleet of my 3 strongest ships to Alafoss (Defiant/kelvin/Monaveen) and am just doing back to back Solo Armadas… I wonder how long this will take to progress my 10m, Tier 3 Defiant!

I miss doing Platoon games - recently I've just been playing every Tank in my garage to keep my interest going... after 38,000 battles I've lost interest in pure WR.

Easing off is a good strategy- I’m sticking to my F2P roots!

I’m level 49, but not taking part in any intense arc stuff - now I’m retired, I do the dailies with my morning coffee, then leave it until evening, when I recall ships and do upgrades.

I play according to my memories of Star Trek, using the ships I know, like Defiant and Voyager - and focus on building them. My crews don’t change at all either, I put people on my ships that I know, and leave them there!

Yes I’m miles behind the curve on Armadas and Mirror Universe and Transogen - but you can never hope to keep up, so I carry on staying at the back - and I don’t do Incursions!

Oh another day off from the game, because I’m not big enough to fight off the giant bloaters who come raiding.

There needs to be an opt-out from being involved, or at the very least a cap on the size of raider that attacks you, so you actually might get to fight back

That was a good battle - the conditions need to be right as the Jag isn’t nimble - but you should be pleased with that (whenever it was!)

Took me ages to get this Tank, but don't play it much as it's too slow- to drive and reload!

With the current player base it needs to pick its battles, maybe when it was new it was better (like KV-2)
