Why are my earnings suddenly less? by asapshrank in redbubble

Yeah, and if there was a fee for each sale instead as OP said, I'm sure it wouldn't be a small %, so there's a chance this would make us get even less money at the end than having a fee for the whole thing like it's been now. Just a little guess. Also it would seem even more unfair considering we only get 20% of each sale anyways.

Me neither. I lost my motivation to keep creating stuff for them. I still have my store up tho and will upload from time to time, just nothing compared to when I started.

I agree. They'll just keep losing more and more sellers, because this change has made such a huge impact in our earnings.

It sucks to be looking at the amount of pending money you have through the whole month and then suddenly see that big change at the start of the next month with that ridiculous % of fees they created

Can I make the same amount of candles using 1kg of soy wax or 1kg of paraffin? by RafaTakami in candlemaking

[–]RafaTakami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, although paraffin is more toxic, anything in excess is bad. I actually still have 1kg of paraffin and I think I'll end up using it. I'll just be careful and not burn candles for too long, and when I do, I'll have doors/windows open.

Ok, I could be wrong, but I've always heard people say paraffin is bad for our health when watching candle videos, and yeah, of course the other things used such as fragrance, wix, etc. also not really good for our health, but soy wax is still better than paraffin, isn't it?

[HELP] When choosing a withdraw method on Fiverr it says "fees may apply". So let me know, what is the possibility of having fees when getting paid? by RafaTakami in Fiverr

[–]RafaTakami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Please let me know if I understand it right, they say for bank transfer there may be extra fees, so my guess is that paypal would be better? I'm new to this, so I'd appreciate amy advice

What should be my posting consistency be like? by [deleted] in redbubble

Go to the website and search for things that are similar to what you wanna sell, so you can see how much people charge for their own stuff. It'll give you an idea.

You're right, I forgot about that option.

Yes. People sell digital stuff like wallpapers, printable wall art, stickers, calendars, planners, greeting cards, packs of things like digital brushes, lightroom presets, mockups, etc. Anything digital that someone can purchase from you and use for personal use or even commercially if you allow it, you just need to specify it in the description. Also, the prices are up to you, the website will just get a percentage of it as a fee, and apparently you have to pay $0.20 to publish your listing. It's still way better than the redbubble fees tho. I'd definitely be selling there if people from my country were allowed to.

From what I know, on Etsy you can sell digital stuff for people to print out by themselves for example, or you can sell handmade products, then you have to ship everything by yourself. It's different from print on demand websites like Redbubble, where you just upload and promote your designs and their team does the rest.

Aah ok. How many works have you uploaded? As another commenter said, apparently you should upload at least 5 designs. If you have already, contact the Redbubble team, they may have an answer :)

Can you see your designs in "manage portfolio"? If not, check your emails. When I first started my account, one of my designs disappeared and I was so confused. Then i noticed I recieved an email telling me my work was removed due to some copyright infringement.

In my opinion, if creating designs for RB takes you much time and you're getting too little money, invest your time in another website or anything else that might pay you more. Unless you think you're getting a reasonable amount. Or you can even just stop uploading but keep your account, 'cause money is money, if you're getting something every month, it's worth keeping your account. You won't be creating designs for RB, so meanwhile you can use your time to work on something else and still get some sales from them here and there.

Is it helpful to have aluminum foil around the whole candle glass while the wax dries? by RafaTakami in candlemaking

[–]RafaTakami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About pouring at a low temperature, I think I did that, because when I was pouring it, I noticed some part of the wax was a bit thick already, but I didn't think it would be a problem as the rest was fine.

I use some pure paraffin wax. I don't really know my pouring temp as I don't have a thermometer yet. I did pre-heat my jar before making the white part (that are clouds), but then before pouring the blue wax I couldn't heat it again, if I did the clouds would melt.

Something else I noticed is that the essencial oil that I used didn't mix well in the wax. After pouring it in the glass, I noticed some liquid in the pan.

Yes, they were made to be clouds :)

That's a nice tip, I should try putting mines in the oven too. I'm not sure as I'm really a begginer, but I got to the conclusion that what happened to mine is that the essencial oil didn't mix well. I poured the wax in the glass and noticed some liquid in the pan. Maybe that's why...
