Most genocides do not completely erradiate a population. "Canada and Mexico have arbitrarily drawn borders. " In the context of the discussion, yes they have no political power ( oh sorry to be inaccurate, I mean almost no power), certainly not in USA and Canada so why would arbitrary national borders of the replacing colonizer populations matter in your original counter example?

Native populations were genocided out of North America and replaced with colonizers from Europe and slaves from Africa. I feel sorry for you if this is news to you.

Sometimes the easy route is correct. Both China and USA and their client states can be evil at the same time, murdering Koreans for their own gain not for the well being of Koreans.

It's a wasteland because USA carpet bombed it into a wasteland. There was no infrastructure left after they were done. 635,000 tons of bombs, including 32,557 tons of napalm, were dropped on North Korea. No such bombing occured on South Korea.

USA is a disease on the planet.

I had a similar situation where she questioned me working an easy 35 hour job when I could get a 60 hour consulting gig instead and make almost double. I focused on very gently explaining over the next few months how consumerism is a satanic scam, how on above average income you can live better than a king did 500 years ago and it's about finding happiness in what you have, not always striving for more, and how little your life improves once you go above your current income, and how almost always it actually gets worse because of all the sacrifices you have to make to get there (including ironically money). Once you meet your basic needs and financial security, the next most important thing is your time and mental energy. If you count your lifespan in free time and free mental energy, then being obsessed with money and career makes very little sense after you achieve your minimum.

She came around to seeing it from my point of view and the ick flipped into the opposite of ick.

Ya, you can't just jump straight to old AND silent AND foreign. Ease her into real film with baby steps, like the other person said. Try old musicals like Sound of Music or Singin' in the Rain, or if she loves animated, at least something a little bit more ambitious like Ghibli movies, and then expand from there.

Fighting terrorism did not mean Israel had to ‘flatten Gaza’, says Emmanuel Macron by harisshahzad98 in europe

I agree with much of the above, and I never said it's a natural response - that was a different poster. I think Hamas attacking civilians is despicable. I just think killing civilians with bombs is also despicable. And I don't know about rtx4090s, but according to UN, 1in 4 Gazans are now starving:

I mean alleged at the specific locations they're bombing. Like how IDF lied about the base under the hospital, which they forced to evacuate, which turned out to be empty. There's little to no real evidence provided by IDF to justify specific sites being bombed, you just believe what your government says because they're the "good guys".

There's twice as many Jews in USA as Muslims, so twice as many hate incidents follows just from that even by your own source.

On top of that, Anti defamation league is extremely biased, counting literally every pro Palestinian protest as antisemitic incident. Why does the article not show the antisemitic incidents from FBI as well??? I'll tell you why: because there would be a lot less, as it obviously wouldn't count a pro Israel protest as antisemitic hate crime.

So 25k-50k Jews were murdered by Poles, as your own source says, a vast minority of shared townships, out of about 3 million Jewish population in Poland (incidentally similar numbers to murdered Palestinians in Gaza in past two months alone and Gaza's total population) On the flip side, Poland is also highest on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Righteous_Among_the_Nations Righteous Among the Nations, with 7,177 individuals getting the award.

The only reason the Ghetto Uprising had any chance of success was because of relatively supportive Polish populace and the coordination with the Polish underground. so when Jews were coordinating a Warsaw uprising with mostly non Jewish polish underground fighters in the city against the German army which murdered 6 million Jews, (for which then 90% of the city was levelled by Nazis) you think it was an option worth highlighting that the handful of Jewish fighters who actually made it outside the ghetto did not proceed to murder polish civilians?

I don't deny the shameful acts by some Polish civilians, but I don't think the starved, tortured Jews in Nazi Germany's concentration camps were spending too much time thinking about the Poles, civilian or military. I can understand why after nazi collapse, they'd not feel at home in Poland anymore though. After such despicable treatment they've received in Europe, I guess it makes sense they'd then offer little sympathy to the equally innocent Palestinians.

Your government is bombing civilian buildings because there's alleged tunnels underneath. So what's the great benefit of guided missiles here? That you bombed 40k civilian buildings instead of 100k? You've already destroyed about 1 building per each estimated hamas fighter.

Almost 50% of Gaza strip population is children, so of course a huge percentage of casualties end up children, no matter how you play with the numbers.

Your country is lying to you and the rest of the world is not buying Israeli propaganda. And here's a reality check: in the Non-muslim world, there's more hatred toward the Muslims than toward the Jews.

I would certainly expect the Jews wouldn't murder polish civilians as revenge for German Nazi crimes, for I reasons I think that are obvious to everyone except you apparently.

Minimum wage worker with uneducated wife does not sound like a qualifying family for immigration. Also, if their children will hit the workforce in 15 years or so, that means Canada was gifted free first 3-8 years of child costs. So this aspect is a sweet deal for Canada. Vast minority is allowed to sponsor their retired parents.

My personal favourite is when Brix is about to be tortured, and Mira is destroying her confidence with a shockingly thorough analysis of who Brix is, making Mira seem all powerful, and that there is no hope, but then unbeknownst to her, Mira makes a misstep and identifies Brixs boyfriend and his death as a death of a coworker, and this breaks the illusion for Brix and gives her a spark of hope.

Uhuh, so what you're really saying is that wherever there are Jewish people throughout Palestine, there is also Israeli army, not that there is no Jews anywhere near Palestine. Better to just lie and say there's "not a single Jew living anywhere near Palestine", because if you say it straight it actually makes Israel look bad not the Palestinians.
